BTC looks as unpredictable as ever right now. Holding is the way to go I think. I used to trade for more ZAR instead of BTC last year during times like this because of concern of a large crash. i.e. never hold and just try to get in on the upswings and sell asap. There were a few times where if I just held for a couple weeks instead of trying to trade constantly, I would have been in a better position. Still made some gains back then but holding works just fine.

these big red candles are a thing to behold...

was so used to big green dildos last year... need to start getting used to big red ones now.

LOL. Just dodged a bullet. Bought BTC1.2 this morning at R116999 and of course the price immediately dropped. Then, a short while ago the price shot up on Luno for no apparent reason and I managed to off-load it all again at R116998. Now down to about R114k again.

EDIT: Typo (meant to write R114K not R144k)
EDIT: Going crazy with the typos

im short short short -- targeting ~8500'

just a note -- we should get swings either way this week i.e (aproximates) 8770 --> 9470 --->9050--->9400 ---> 8800 etc , but ultimately i see it going lower.
stops in place as always -- remember if you think you can win em all you doing it wrong;)

Going up again now. At times like this I just watch from the sidelines.

Why did you sell so soon?

If you dont trust Bitcoin, or if you cant handle little movement this way and that way, pull your money out. It will hust stress you more and make you lose sleep.

Get some die, they work great and don't crack when you throw them, a d20 should be fine for now;)

dont think that going to work --- bitcoin hasnt reach single and double digit numbers yet.

maybe a magic 8-ball ---> il ask it every hour for a guess

interesting price action at 9k ---

previous few drops this level didn't hold up much -- seems like a battle today.

unless mm's are prolonging the inevitable 6pm dump

I've been trading in BTC for more than a year now, so it has nothing to do with "can't handle little movement".
IMO, 'hodling" is so last year. The game for me now is to stay mostly in fiat and accumulate small profits on micro trades, at least until I'm convinced that we're solidly in a new upward trend.

I did that last year. Only issue is that if the price tanks and you get caught holding in a bear market you end up busy trading trying to make up losses. It's easier to see steady progress if holding mostly and just trying to accumulate more BTC whenever possible.

this.

the volatility of BTC is a traders wet dream.
When stocks move in the 1% range on average, BTC is moving 10%

I know most of you may not be using Luno to trade but don't burn me.

Is Luno being stupid with a 1% buy cost? My opinion is that they will attract more trades with a .25% cost on a buy and sell. Thus the amount of trades will increase their current profit. As a noob I am more likely to trade a lot more on a 0.5% move compared to the current 1% move required by Luno.

Or am I missing something?

and out that short --- just short of 8800

could see a swing now with the U S of A joining. maybe maybe not depends on how the coffee tastes this morning

you are most definitely missing something - --- if you trade on the luno exchange fees are zero if you use limit orders.

swing on cue...

re-shorting the crap out 9.2-9.4 --> stop above 9.5
