Black Friday GIVE away is daylight robbery

I have learned this morning that the 3500 rand router is for free. I bought mine 3 weeks ago from rain. Now I can understand a reduction of 1000 for black Friday, but giving it away for free feels like daylight robbery.

Anyone else that want to get on my rant train ?

Guys, its not free. You are tied to a 24 Month Contract and when you do the figures you are paying R24000. The Fibre prices will drop further and packages get more competitive you will be stuck in this contract. The month to month option was the most attractive portion of Rain.

But you aren't paying R24000 for the router, you are paying for the data, which is what the prepaid guys are paying over 24 months.

I have been looking at 5G Rain and yes its a 24 month contract and Telkom are not putting in a new copper line for me and this is the next best thing for me.

With only 1 paycheck comeing in to the house this will help as we need internet.

So Thank you Rain for a Deal that some accept and some wont.

The point i was trying to make is that you are stuck in a contract and you will pay the R24000. The current subscribers who got the router for free or paid a once off are not bound by a contract and will be able to ditch the service once fibre becomes available or more affordable.
