Black Ops 4

I'm afraid I'm going to really enjoy the battle royale because I don't want to spend R800 on a game and now it's not even on Steam anymore either so no more Steam sales.

True, I too think I'll enjoy Blackout mode much more than that of PUBG / Fortnite and I have a feeling that it might be running locally on dedicated servers. The MP beta last month was running on dedicated servers and everyone I played with was from South Africa and had sub 100ms pings which leads me to believe that we have local dedicated servers via gameservers.com. Seeing that Treyarch has used gameservers.com since Blops1, chances are good it will be the same for Blops 4.

I love Fortnite and I won't stop playing it but I was always more for FPS games and if I can play on a local server after playing EU for almost a year I'd be so happy.

From what I've read it uses AWS and Vultr servers so I don't think we are getting local pings.

So far only about 10 people in SA games this morning, hoping we get more online this weekend to actually play

Just be patient. At least the PC version has local dedicated servers. As for proof, go to the "Input" menu and then select "Telementry" while playing and you'll see you have a nice sub 100ms ping
 
I had 40ms in my game just now and the match starts at 50 players if more don't join.

Also had a few instances where I couldn't find matches, but eventually managed to find a few. Seems a lot are playing the new close quarters playlist which was activated today. Although, it might also be that all servers are full locally, hence the fact that we couldn't find any due to it being open beta from today.

I tried non stop for 10 minutes and decided well now I'm over it.
 
I just finally got into a game after clicking deploy an endless amount of times, the lobby filled up all the way and I got an 8 kill win.

Niiice. Well done on the win. The servers were pretty hard to get into yesterday because of that "server at capacity" error. But today I played 20 games in a row without a single issue.
