Black tongue!

I saw something today that I've never seen or heard before, in my entire life!
A friend of mine showed me her tongue which was covered with long, pitch black fur.

OMG I almost fainted!!

Apparently it was caused by the antibiotics which she was on. Is this a rare case or does it often happen? Anyone know?
