Is it possible that I am blackballed by Telkom?
I lodge fault for line noise, then a few days later i get a notice by sms to say that my fault is being attended to, and them immediately afterwards one to say the fault is closed.

Blatantly they are just opening and closing it.
Fault never gets remedied.

I try again, and then exact same thing happens.

I am starting to take this personally now.

Any ideas what to do?

Follow escalation process as MickeyD stated in another thread?

Sound like the normal telkom response. They probably do that in the hope that the problem will sort itself or you get fed up logging the calls....
Anyway, just re-log the call and ask them to open up the same call on the first ref no you got. Once a call is open for a certain amount of time it will be escalated I think, but if they give you a new ref no it will never be escalated. Took a few months for me to get my line issues sorted, had to log the same thing about 5 times.

Nice one - just got hold of a technical manager at my exchange. Progress!

Sounds familiar, had the same thing happened to me two or three times. I escalated it and then had the same thing happen with the escalation.

After the third fault on the same line it should automatically escalate to the supervisor , whether he does his job or not is another story .

but after a few months of reopening the same fault...

A kind gent calls, asks to meet. Chats to you, takes pics (your equipment better be in good nick)
Then he leaves convinces the problem is not in your home.
With my problem they ended up replacing the local street box as it got water in it.

Had the same issue in Newlands over 4 weeks. Eventually went to Telkom shop in Claremont and would not leave until I had the name and phone no of the techie who was going to attend to it. I was in the shop for 3 hours while they tried to fob me off.

The techie came at the appointed time the following day and after working on it for a few hours, got it right
