Blackberry Bold 9780 opinions needed please

Hi all,

I will be getting my vcom upgrade in less than 30 days. I am considering the BB 9780 but I also found out that the Bold touch will be coming out later this year. And according to sources, it will feature a 640*480 screen res + 1ghz processor. So the question is should I rather wait for that or go for the BB 9780? Bearing mind that all news about the BB Bold Touch(Dakota) is still rumors.

Also for owners of BB 9780 are there any problems that you have been experiencing with your phone?

Ok. I just did more researching. It appears Touch Bold will be shown at the BlackBerry World conference starting 1st May. And released on overseas networks from June. It should reach SA then in a couple of months. So will be worth it to wait for a better phone then.

I did answer my own question :)
 
9780 is the best machine ever invented. If you do not get one your life will be a complete failure (relatively).
I've had mine for about 3 days. Best thing in the world.
If you want to communicate and interact/do a lot, its the best phone ever.
If you just want to browse the web and look at eye candy etc, then go for a phone with a big screen.

BB OS is the best thing ever invented. No need for any lame touch screens. The torch is a fail. It lags, top heavy, heavy generally and its just lame cos everything takes longer to do on it than the bold. Bold all the way.

I have had my Bold 9780 for about a week now and I love it. No problems thus far.
 
Blackberry tend to have a long life span for their respective models. But as techno goes....the general rule is that once you have upgraded, there is bound to be a new model out sooner or later that will make you drool. That is a fact that we all have to make peace with.

It all depends on your own preferences:

I had a 9700, awesome device. I am now using the 9780, and it is a bit faster, with more storage for apps which is great.
If you want to look at pictures the whole day, and you like touch-screens, then go that route ... I personally don't like touch screens, I prefer the proper keyboard.

So it really is up to you, but I would recommend the 9780 if you want to use it as a business tool ... if you want a super bright screened multimedia device, get an iPhone ;)

I love my 9780, the only thing that gets to me sometimes is that the trackball tends to stick ... does anyone else have this issue and is there perhaps a solution ?
 
The 9780 would be my choice out of the BB family.

I was really anti BB but so many of my friends have it. Was at Bafunny Bafunny this week and almost every third person had a BB. Will hopefully find a contract I like in the next month or so.
 
I also have the 9780 and I must say, besides a few minor things, it really is an amazing device and I wouldn't want any other handset.
