Blackberry bold/storm pricing

Yes the battery will improve with the first few charges. Li-on and Li-po forms the cells in the first few charges. Thats why it is so important to charge your battery to full and then use it to almost empty and then charge it again.

After the first few charges the battery should be formed and then you can charge on a more regular base and not worry about memory buildup as this is almost non existent on these type of batteries.

Li-on and Li-po does not like to be empty and this can cause damage. So rather store your batteries at about 40%

The average life expectency is about 450-550 charges

I'll go confirm with them this evening. I think you may be correct, as all Nashua does is sell contracts from the SP's, as far as I know, and they should offer very similar deals.
Thanks for the info.

Went to mtn just now and they confirmed that BIS isn't included in the r350pm on anytime 200. That's another r69pm. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you need BIS for the free browsing and email from the handset, correct?

Then their ads are lying because they say in the ads it is included. At least the "current" (ACTUALLY out of date ads but all we've got)...

I'd show them the advert and demand it...

I agree I've got this contract and my monthly charges are R347 total including BIS, clearly you spoke to someone who knows nothing (more common than you might think). Just call up any store or visit a service centre and they'll confirm it is included.

How is the Storm the same price as the Bold?
The Storm is R1000 a month on Vodacom. I hope you're not comparing Business Call because that includes nothing - no minutes, no airtime, no BIS. Business Call is basically like a 24 month installment plan rather than a cellular contract.
Read my post again. A R3599 pay in on anytime200 for R200/month is the same price over 24 months as the Bold for R349/month.BIS is included. I wasn't referring to Vodacom's prices.

Your very first sentence is:
"That makes the Storm basically the same price as the Bold"
You can see how that might lead to confusion, since MTN don't sell the Storm I don't see how your post was not refering to Vodacom.

Anybody know the best rate I can get a Bold on prepaid? Sold my upgrade (Omnia) so now have to buy the phone outright.

Don't mind which network since I'm going to end up flashing it in all likelihood anyway to be used on MTN.

That's just Nashua. MTN SP includes it. I'm paying R350 a month for my Bold on MTN Anytime 200 with BIS included, not sure about the pay-in deals though.

MTN SP is charging you for BIS and a pay in on the handset. Anytime 200 is R200 per month. You therefore have a +R2000 pay in on the phone (0ver 24 months) plus you are paying for your BIS every month. So it's not "included". Don't know if they mentioned that to you?

No, we do not sell contracts from the SP's, we sell contracts from the networks - we ARE a SP. We are not a middleman, the network branded stores do not get "better deals" than we do. We create our own deals and specials, but we are open to input. If you want something that is not advertised, you can ask, we'll do our best to assist!

We know it is factored into the price. At Nashua you have to pay an additional R60-R70 for BIS while the MTN contracts all include the price of BIS in all their monthly cost. Nashua charges the same prices but excludes BIS subscription. Did you know that?
Please provide 5 examples where Nashua offers lower prices than MTN. Also please tell us why you have to pay extra for what passes as customer service at Nashua when MTN and Vodacom customer service is free and open all day, every day.
