BlackBerry Internet Solution (BIS) confusion

The new Z10 do not need BIS. Data has become affordable enough to get sufficient full speed data for a reasonable price. Why use a throttled lower spec data service on a top of the range product like the Z10? If you can afford a Z10 contract you can afford normal data bundles. Stupid to go for top of the range phone but live with bottom of the range data performance.

Blackberry offering : Confusion. Thats the offering.

Semantics shame-antics.

Smoke and mirrors if you ask me.

MTN falls short of telling us that we should just buy the damn BB services without questioning them.

what is the latest with the rumors that the BIS servers pipe lines into south Africa are getting shut down ?

The latest is you should stop listening to rumours started by people who dont know anything about tech ;)

The current BIS services will still continue on older bb's and the new bb's dont need them and can use normal data bundles like iphone and android.

If so, does this mean that the mobile providers will have to provide similar packages for iOS and Android devices?

Bottom line, if BIS is no longer uncapped, as is highlighted in the MTN ad... then seriously... where is Blackberry's market advantage?

Most do already, like cell c R399 for the iphone 5 with 500mb data, but i'm expecting them to give bigger bundles on their bb10 packages because traditional bb users were used to uncapped.

BBM,unrivaled email handling and of course security features. Not to mention a completely new usage system for people that are beginning to tire of android and ios(especially ios since its been the same for years now).
