BlackBerry is betting on Android

I'll wait for to see the new features in OS2 first before investing in a playbook. just been empty promises so far. If they deliver on all their promises, then I'll get me a playbook for sure.
 
This may be an epically stupid question but can they use android as the OS on their phones?

Take android put it on a blackberry with uncapped, surely that would explode and everyone would be using blackberry? Is droid only allowed to be used on certain phones? Well everyone who isn't using an iphone.

Yes i realize this could be a very silly question

The OS is QNX or something like that, and you get an android player which enables you to download and use android apps through the player.

I downloaded a beta app that enables this kind of functionality on my windows 7 machine. It lives as a gadget on the windows desktop and enables me to sync with my SGS2 and use the apps within the gadgets player. It is still in beta but very slick already. I imagine this is similar to how the BB will work with Android.

Then they all just might as well join together since each can play each others applications

And this emulator, does it has any major performance set back?

another epic stupid question: what is stopping Android from providing a Android Internet Service (like BIS); I mean Google has a lot of server space and time...much larger than RIM, I guess..just having a loud thought

This was mentioned not to long ago, that the Service providers are working on a product like this..

Cant wait for a damn response/follow up.. hurry up now
 
Is this RIM trying to saving face for the massive cock up that is the Playbook OS ... Yeah sure having an android player is one thing but without android market ? This forces most users to get more tech savvy to load apps and takes simplicity out of the product. Get BBX out already you nuts ! And where is the 3G +WiFi Playbook ? Blackberry Bridge sucks, its slow and buggy and the amount of updates for the Playbook is a nightmare ...

I've used BB Bridge and didn't find it that bad. Anyway, do some research before you decide to post your opinion, else its all just word vomit. From what I've read the problem with the playbook is not the os itself, but rather what it currently lacks. BBX is QNX, but for their tablets and new phones. Also, Android apps will be available through app world, so the end user won't know the difference between android apps and native apps. There is NO technical knowledge required.
