Is anyone else on the Vodacom network experiencing Intermittent BIS issues? This has been happening since last night. I went as far as purchasing another BB BIS bundle but is seems like the issue persists :wtf: .

Count yourself lucky - my Vodacom BIS is only intermittently up!

:D

My parents also complain about their BIS. I send them links, only to ask 10 minutes later "has it finished loading yet?".

Isn't it time we start letting BB overseas know what vodacom is doing to their brand?
Surely they have contracts in place - sort of like sla's?

Or Vodacom can start kicking off these ********'s that download movies and series on their BBs.... then everyone will have a fair share of the [-]pie[/-] pipe.

There is hardly any RIM overseas - Vodacom (and MTN) are pretty much all they have left :)

Disclaimer: totally OTT analysis

I got fed up with BIS on Vodacom. On top of it being super slow, and intermittently down, they would randomly decide whether or not the particular app I was using qualified for BIS, and would take my airtime instead. For over a year they leeched varying amounts of airtime off my phone for things that should be included in BIS, and previously was, and when I complained they told me outright lies about what BIS covers, suddenly stating new terms and conditions that nobody had ever heard of before.

So I escalated the matter, and gave them 2 months to sort it out. Story after story about how they had to get in touch with the app developers to figure out how the apps make data connections, and when 2 months later I was still having airtime stolen (at an ever-increasing rate) I took a little stroll down to the nearest 8ta store.

There are a few minor glitches on 8ta now and then, no network is perfect, but when I complain at least they listen and the problems seem to improve within a reasonable time frame. I am quite happy on 8ta, and LOVE the free BIS I get, the free SMSs, the free Youtube data, and the free minutes to call when people call me. I actually USE my phone again.

Prepaid FTW. I don't know why Contracts even exist anymore. Never tie yourself to a single network. The days of customer loyalty are over.
