BlackBerry speed tests

Funny how mybb posted the news of vodacom's blackberry "upgrade" as front page article, but hundreds of paying subscribers who receive no service go unnoticed.
 
Speedtest timeout for me too! VodacomData - u out there??? What's going on?
 
No BIS at all ....

The Blackberry Internet Service from Vodacom is currently not being served, at least not on my device with full GPRS signal.

Message says, "Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later.
If the problem persists please contact your service provider" which happens to be Vodacom in my case.

Anyone else experiencing this too?

Contacting the service provider is a waste of time as they are not willing to acknowledge a fault.

If anyone else is also experiencing loss of Internet connectivity then this is not an isolated instance :o

This is quite pathetic, and I am constraining myself in my choice of words, this is after all a public forum :o
 
I'm having the same issue.
Trying to open gmail just hangs with a status of requesting.
Totally unusable today.
 
BIS is dead, my signal indicator shows gprs in lowercase letters on my BB8520 which means BIS is _not_ active :mad:

Will be posting a photo and if I can a video to show the attempts to connect and error msg shortly.
 
Have you tried switching your mobile connection off and back on to let it reregister?

Ok, just did that, still no BIS, have shutdown, pulled the battery, reinserted and booted back up again, signal indicator in following order:

SOS <-- enter Pin code
GSM
gprs requesting
edge
gprs

No GPRS, no EDGE

So no BIS service.

PS I am in the CPT Waterfront, anyone else have same problem?

Have call 082155 and discovered my BIS has been de-activated since 00h30 last night, but I received mails till 6h09 this morning, am currently online with 082155 and they are trying to sort as I am typing this.

My BIS is active but according to them I am not registered :confused:

Anyway, am on hold at the moment, let's see how this pans out.

I had a look on your number and I can see the BIS service on our number on my system, but put in a query to see if the service is actually provisioned properly on your line. If you get a update before I do, please post here.

WoW you must feel like an ass not even having the service active and complaining the entire morning.:rolleyes:
