BlackBerry speed tests

Will you post here when your BIS comes on Astound?

@ ocleroux - My BIS seems to be re-activated, showing GPRS in caps this morning however I have not received any mail on my BB but have on my PC for the same account.

I can send emails though and I can access the Internet now again.

Have contacted 082155 went through the options for Blackberry assistance, but was then told, "Due to unforseen circumstances, our call center is unavailable" :(

Now what to make of _this_ response from VC support?

Anyone else getting the same message as quoted above?

Have gone to my settings and registered on the Wireless network and received the response from Blackberry, which says, "Your handheld has been registered with the wireless network" , but still no new emails.

So something is still broken on my setup and something is definitely broken with the call centre.

Since this is the Blackberry Speed test forum, to add value, here is my speed test:

Seems to be way more snappier than ever before :D

Still find the VC Call Centre unavailable due to unforseen circumstances though :(

@ VodacomData....please throttle Astounds speed...he is getting way too much speed on that Blackberry of his :D

Noooo, don't it is fine just the way it is :D

Don't know why I cannot receive mails though, can send fine.

See there are problems getting hold of the call centre according to Vodacomdata atm :erm:

@ Astound....provisioning of the back-end has been completed.Mail should be coming through in +-10 mins

@ ocleroux ... still no incoming emails, and call centre still not accepting calls on 082155, not available.

Please take battery out, leave it out for 30 seconds and reboot the phone. Please revert back with the outcome.

Did what you said, pulled battery, waited 2mins, replaced battery rebooted, can send but still cannot receive new emails.

Sent the following email from my Blackberry and received via my PC but not on the Blackberry:

Thanks for your input ocleroux :D

Depending on how your PC email client is set up, when the PC downloads the email it is normally no longer available on the mail server for your blackberry to pull it. Somtimes you can change the settings in your email client to leave emails on the server once it has downloaded the email, so then it will go through to your blackberry aswell. What email u using? Pop?

I have taken up Vodacomdata's offer of assistance in the new thread he just opened, yep, keep copy on server is active, using POP3, have also setup a test account only accessed by the Blackberry to ensure elimination of read mail not being pushed.

I dont get the test messages to this account on the Blackberry and am not popping them at all either.

Refer the 111 / 155 thread by Vodacomdata.

Once again thanks :D

Lol, also getting these silly fluctuations. Point is, when browsing on 3G, it's unbelievably slow. Therefore sustained speeds are pathetic. Luckily this is not my primary phone.
