Blocked websites

I can't access the site "knowbrainer.com" through 8ta mobile broadband. The site is perfectly legitimate, (it deals in voice recognition software) and I can get to it through other broadband providers (or by using Tor). I've contacted 8ta but in the meantime, I'm curious to know, has anyone else had similar problems?

Interesting, 8ta's response was to suggest I try establishing a secure connection with https! I particularly liked the word "try". How hard would it be to test the suggested solution before recommending it to the customer?

It looks more like a routing problem than intentional blocking. Please list the sites you are having a problem with.

Well, something F's out on 8ta every once in awhile, DNS or routing, I dunno. But time to time, I cannot even get to 8ta's home page, using an 8ta SIM. Been 4 days now, without an issue, hope it stays that way.

Problem you describe is temporary and possibly local. Problem in subject is global - it affects all outgoing connections to the particular destignation. It could be outside 8ta/Telkom network, but 8ta/Telkom fault is not updating routing tables and not removing unreachable routes.

Try manually setting different DNS servers, such as Google's DNS - just more for interest sake.

We had a similar issue with a client a while ago on Cell C, on the odd occasion the Cell C DNS servers would just completely freak out leaving him unable to open a good number of sites which are perfectly accessible from other connections...

elf_lord_ZC5 knows these things, it was just small raving, but it derails this thread, so guys please stop.
Back to the subject I noticed routing has changed, but still unreachable. :-(

I get the same thing with http://myscienceacademy.org. Never been able to access the site from the 8ta network.

If you are experiencing rooting issues, then please email [email protected]
Please provide:
Full name.
8ta number.
Alternative contact number.
The full URL of the site you would like to access.
Screen print of the error message.
Screen print of the trace root to the site you would like to access.
The Version of the browser you are using
Have you tried clearing the history and cash?
