I really appreciate your reponse :) speed tests are run via wifi, i cant connect via cable (the router is in a awkward position). The classes are video and voice. I can see myself and my students.

Best would be to first run the tests on the LAN. If you get better speeds then you have a wifi issue. Maybe wifi signal is weak?

But you first need to determine if its a wifi issue or not. Can then proceed with further troubleshooting.

I am doing the tests over wifi not cable. I know that my speeds will be better via cable but its not possible for me to sit by the router and be connected by cable. The router is installed in the passage abit awkward to host a class

You do get longer cables, just test with a short cable first and show us the results.

My fibre should be the same as yours, and my results over wifi are :

Ping : 4ms

DL : 76.1Mbps

UL : 55.99Mbps

This is on Vox, and is obviously a local test.

Lol from your feedback it looks like thats my best bet

But i appreciate you providing me with the global stats and providing me with info on what it should be. If i do speedtests internationally, i think i get those results. But i am still concerned with my speeds and coverage locally?

One problem at a time. First test Internet connection with a cable. If it's faster, then WiFi could be the issue. You'd potentially need to upgrade your laptop's WiFi or alternatively it could be the router than needs a bit of a bump.
If the cable doesn't speed things up, the issue is with your line.

You don't know her or me from a bar of soap, so how do you know if she will be offended to asked to post a picture for getting help? You sounds like a desperate teenager. Some people have different moral values to you, ever though of that?

Oh FFS

If budget wasnt the issue? Whats best?

You first need to eliminate wifi as the cause of your problem by testing with a cable.

If it is not the cable, then Vodacom seems to be providing a really poor service.

Are you sure that you are on a 100/100 uncapped package ? Maybe you are on a slower speed ?

Also, the uncapped packages are expensive and are often throttled.

I did the speedtest whilst connected to a network cable my results are as follows:

DL: 93 Mbps
UL: 51 Mbps

This is pretty good! Then it would seem i need a longer cable. And there maybe a wifi problem?

Def on 100/100 uncapped. The top plan at vodacom.

Throttled ? If my understanding is correct that would mean they are tampering with my speeds?

Hi there.

I followed through on the first set of instructions - i connected to a network cable and ran the speedtest. The speeds were a whole lot better: UL 93 and DL 51 Mbps. So it would seem the line is good!

What is the next step?

Use a cable to connect to the Internet. Failing that, what laptop do you have exactly? It may be using old WiFi tech which is a lot slower than modern bits.
