I am confused, why you asking about over the counter meds?Already seeing a doc regarding it,
Currently on Ridaq, its dropped it , this morning its just a bit higher.
Next appointment is next week. No headache etc,
I am one of those who had no symptoms whatsoever. Your doc would advise but I was on prexum plus for 2 years and not much changed. Changed doctor as mine went to Ireland and new Doc put me on co-zomevek and bam, it worked within a week if I recall correctly.Already seeing a doc regarding it,

Looking for something that can bring it down a few points.I am confused, why you asking about over the counter meds?
Was it just for interest sake or are you looking at saving money or what is the goal?
It took me 3 to 4 months to go down from 150/100 to 130/90Looking for something that can bring it down a few points.
In addition to what I am currently on
Its my first month on meds, Dont know how long its been high, as I mentioned never had issues before.
I was on four classes of meds to manage my hypertension for years...--just barely keeping below the higher levels...Already seeing a doc regarding it,

Its true, most people say lower salt intake, when in reality its actually the sodium. Haven't watched the video yet but will, that said I already agreeI was on four classes of meds to manage my hypertension for years...--just barely keeping below the higher levels...
End of the day, my body was saturated with sodium and not enough potassium...- due to modern lifestyle...compacted by the effects of the meds on my system,....once I understood the Sodium Potassium pump mechanism at the cellular level...it made total sense to me...cleared up my diet, cut out most sodium out of my diet... consumed copious amounts of sodium free salt/potassium chloride....within a month I could feel a noticeable difference, within three , totally stopped taking my chronics...two years down the line...my bp is generally around 127/80 -- caveat - I did not just clean up my diet, cleaned my life of stress factors...practice yoga and meditation...the clarity of mind , getting off of those meds..!
--if I think of the money...time and energy I lost due to being slapped onto chronics...having total trust in my doctor/ western medicine.....it just dulled my system/ in retrospect I was just surviving and not living or flourishing..as always all part of the journey...If I look at pics of myself 24+ months back, bloated and retaining water...I was around 86kg, thought healthy...gymmed 5 times a week...thought , felt great...now I am down to 68kg...have energy all the time...take a run every morning with the mutts...vitality flowing through me...clarity of mind...even went onto a total plant diet (with the occasional snoek and slap chips parcel) --- boils down to taking control of your life, and doing your research and never assume that something that works for others, will work for you....Its true, most people say lower salt intake, when in reality its actually the sodium. I learned about potassium back when I started working out at the gym. The effects of potassium vs sodium on your muscles alone. So it affects more than just BP, its good for muscles too when building strength or growing size.
not at all, natural reaction...as doctors usually lay it on thick of what high blood pressure can lead to...just do a bit of research, looking at alternatives -- experiment and find what works for you and your body.Possible overreaction on my part,
Thanks guys
How did you increase your pottassium intake? Its true, most people say lower salt intake, when in reality its actually the sodium. Haven't watched the video yet but will, that said I already agree

Curious. At any of these stages, were you overweight? And did you drop significant weight (10% of body weight at least) ?I was on four classes of meds to manage my hypertension for years...--just barely keeping below the higher levels...

banana? or Pills? I eat one banana a day but doesn't seem to make any difference. How did you increase your pottassium intake?
I found the easiest way is to eat bananas. Basically wife buys a box of them twice a week. I try to eat at least 1 a day but more where I can with average being 2 a day. 1 mid morning and 1 mid afternoon. How did you increase your pottassium intake?
no, it was all the water retention...doctor kept adding more meds to my regiment...went as far as seeing a cardiologist to see if their were any abnormalities in system causing a feedback issue -- it was basically all the sodium in my system , causing water retention. Although I was on a diuretic as well...all the meds where just impacting the whole low potassium issue.... end of the day, it was put down to bad genes.... once I upped my potassium intake and got off the chronice...my system stabilized..Curious. you have to saturate your body with potassium, so that it starts swopping out the sodium ions with potassium ions at the cellular level...--I was in a huge K deficit ...I use to drink a glass of water with a 1/2 teaspoon of potassium chloride in the mornings, eat plenty of bananas and veggies....uncooked...as natural as possible... and once I saw my bp stabilizing ... dropped the morning routine of potassium chloride...but kept up with just eating plenty of veggies and fruit.banana? or Pills? I eat one banana a day but doesn't seem to make any difference.
p.s. He probably means this

The difficulty in finding pottasium rich food is exactly why im asking.I found the easiest way is to eat bananas. Basically wife buys a box of them twice a week. I try to eat at least 1 a day but more where I can with average being 2 a day. 1 mid morning and 1 mid afternoon.
Still dont add salt to anything and rely on peppers and stuff for spice.
It is actually quite difficult to find easy to eat things high in potassium where as sodium is basically everywhere in most things.
So I wouldnt say I am great at it, but I try.
Well I think the idea is not to go overboard and try and reach 3g/day by eating those 2.The difficulty in finding pottasium rich food is exactly why im asking.
Think the recomendation is 3g/day. Which is like 10bananas or 3 avos. (Cant remember exact figures so there might be some hyperbole in my numbers)
One puts you into a diabetic coma and the other one puts you into a financial coma.
