Blood Pressure...

**** sake. Haven't been feeling great for a while. Eventually caved and popped into the pharmacy to get my BP taken, and glad I did cause it doesn't look good:

143/100 Pulse 64
147/101 Pulse 67
138/100 Pulse 67

Last time I had it read it was because my Bisoprolol dosage had been halved and it within range (120/80).

GP has increased my Bisoprolol back up to 1.25mg, and told me to submit daily readings. He says it’s only an issue if it’s a long-term thing, so I had to remind him that I’ve survived 4 heart attacks. Also mentioned that we have no idea how long it’s been this high because today was the first time it’s been measured in months. Gave me the usual about drinking less (I don’t drink at all) and reducing salt. Seemed quite blasé about it if I’m honest.

Doesn't bisoprolol only come in 2.5, 5 and 10mg?

Not highly critical, but there's definitely a need for action to be taken, and the sooner, the better.

Good luck.

152/90 - after meds and after almost losing 3 kg weight last month. I have seen better reading when I used to eat more crappy foods than now :crying:

Stress. Look at stress factors.
Core approach of lifestyle mods for hypertension

1) change diet
2) exercise
3) remove unnecessary stress

Don't over monitor your BP it can stress you out.

Thanks. I generally take reading every week/10 days or so. Hopefully that is not over monitoring. Today 129/78.

After hearing Rhonda Patrick talk about exogenous ketones the last time she was on JRE, I'm a little bit skeptical about some of her claims and always make sure to look further into what she says.

But will read more into this. In the past I've taken a lot of magnesium but found that I don't sleep well with it. Think I can definitely do with more potassium especially when I exercise heavily. But 3g sounds like a huge amount, need to check how many bananas is that

Hi Everyone,

So I'm a bit of a noob on this forum, haven't posted much, but been reading quite a few.

So i have quick question for some of the other, if i can say, more experienced kind people on here.

I did my discovery health test in November and when it came to checking my bp, it was 137/95. the dr tried to help me get it lower, by testing a few times and getting me to lay down and test again after 15min. He managed to get it slighly lower, but i cant remember the exact figure.

I went to my GP in December where he checked my blood pressure and it was 134/100 and put me on Prexum Plus.

I know my grandfather has had 2 heart attacks and the 3rd one he got covid and unfortunately passed away.

I just want to know, how do i know if its definitely high blood pressure and not, as someone mentioned, White collar fright'?

I definitely want to rather catch it sooner, rather than later, but scared I'm trying to treat something that doesn't exist perhaps and causing long term issues in the future.

I'm 28 years old and everyone says I shouldn't have these issues at my age, but i just keep saying its not called the silent killer for nothing.

Bit of info about me as well, i don't smoke and if i drink 4 glasses of wine a month, that's a lot. I'm not over weight and i run at least 5km twice a week, otherwise I'm in the gym and i don't really eat unhealthy.

Sorry for all questions.

Thanks
