Oh God, amlodipine was terrible. I couldn’t put on my shoes for the few months I was on it because of the insane amount of swelling. Stopped, and it immediately went down again.

For real? I haven’t noticed any swelling in the 5 days I have been using it.

Amlodipine (Amloc 5mg) didn't work well for me. Not swelling of ankles, but I had intermittent episodes of AF lasting 8-17 days that started a year after I went on to it in 2014. Neither my doc nor I fingered Amlodipine as a culprit. After about 5 years I started getting flushing episodes that were highly irritating amongst other issues, and I was put on to Tesar (now on a generic Telpress) in 2021. Since then no AF. Holding thumbs tightly...

Systolic is stable enough, but my issue at the moment is diastolic which can’t be managed on its own with meds anyway.

I honestly do not remember the name of pill, it was a very tiny tablet though. But ya, was crap sitting in meetings and you got this cough that just wouldn't go away.

yesterday was quite a day.

last week a friend had a heart attack and was admitted to hospital where he went under cardiac arrest.
was admitted to icu, lungs started failing, as were kidneys - brain damage set in.
life support equipment was shut down around 10am - 10 minutes later he was dead - at the age of 36.

about an hour later i get a call from a cousin informing me her brother woke up in the morning with high blood pressure and breathing difficulties.
he was admitted to hospital, and was dead 2 hrs later.

some day !!

in the adjacent operating theatre, a young woman was being operated on in preparation to receive donor organs.
my friend is pronounced dead, organs are harvested, & taken to the adjacent operating theatre to be transplanted into the recipient.
so, while his life was cut short, someone even younger is getting a second chance to live.

Imho, organ donation should be mandatory, with opt-out option, and if you do opt-out, then you cannot receive organs.
