so like, i was at work, with bluetooth 'on' (like it usually is on my phone), when all of a sudden i started to get file recieve requests as if someone in range was trying to send me something. this happened every 10 minutes or so. the weirdest part of it is that when i tried i couldn't detect any bluetooth devices in range. the filenames were really weird too. they were all .sis extensions (is that for symbian?). i wrote down 2 of the filenames:

bvj3x60q7.sis ; ndzzrwoi.sis

i didn't accept obviously 'cause i dunno wtf it is.
anyone got an idea?

Probly a virus

Yes, .sis are symbian files. Maybe also a bluesnarfer. Get a copy of `the auditor' (linux live distro) and see how easy bluesnarfing is with Nokia's and Ericcsson's.

Yep, as the other said, virusses. Remember, a person can hide his phone - so bluetooth is still active, but not visible. Thus he was likely in range, but hid his phone. The virus on his phone could still get to you, though.

Where were you?

my phone doesn't have symbian.

yeah initially i thought it was a virus, but nobody was around, it was late...
