The folks over at Manhart Performance decided the standard BMW M8 Competition was not potent enough so they have decided to create the MH8 800 seen here.
The MH8 800 LIMITED 01/10 tells you that just 10 units will be made in total with this being the fifth unit built so far.
The majestic 4-litre bi-turbo V8 has been cranked up to deliver a whopping 812 hp (605 kW) and 1,070 Nm (790 ft-lb) of torque. This gain was achieved thanks to their in-house performance kit as well as a turbo upgrade, intercooler upgrade, carbon air intake and the complete stainless steel exhaust system.
The four tailpipes measure 100mm in diameter and sport a carbon casing. In addition, there are MANHART OPF-Delete replacement pipes made of stainless steel and race downpipes without catalytic converter, which, however, do not
have TÜV approval and are therefore only suitable for export.

BMW M8 muscled up to 614kW by German tuner Manhart
BMW’s most potent two-door model has been given a massive boost by German tuner Manhart, but only a select few will get to enjoy the new creation, which is called the MH8 800, as only 10 are set to be produced.
What kind of performance are we talking about? The standard BMW M8 Competitionproduces 460kW at 6000rpm and 750Nm from 1800rpm, but for the MH8 800, Mansory has tuned the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 to produce 614kW and 1070Nm. This, says Mansory, is enough to launch the large coupé from 0-100km/h in just 2.6 seconds, making it 0.6s faster than the standard car.
Of course, there’s more going on here than just an engine remap. The tuner says it has upgraded the turbochargers and a bespoke intercooler and carbon air intake is also fitted. A Manhart Stainless Steel Exhaust with valve control is part of the deal too, including motorsport-inspired downpipes without catalytic converters. The latter option, however, is available for markets outside Europe only.

Rebooted BMW 6 Series rumoured to replace 4 Series and 8 Series
The unabating rise of the SUV has brought with it many consequences, one of which is a continuous decrease in market share for conventional cars. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the two-door market for coupes and cabriolets.
However, rather than giving up on this oh-so-beautiful automotive format, German carmakers are instead rationalising their two-door ranges. For instance, Mercedes-Benz is said to be working on a new CLE range that will replace both the C-Class and E-Class coupe and cabriolet models, and now it appears that BMW has the same idea.
According to Australian website WhichCar, sources from Munich have indicated that the BMW 6 Series is set to be relaunched as a two-door line-up around 2026, replacing both the 4 Series and 8 Series. It’s not clear whether a 6 Series Gran Coupe four-door would be offered, but the report does state that the 8 Series Gran Coupe is likely to survive, albeit as an offshoot of the next-generation 7 Series family.

Tweaked exterior and M Sport package as standard for luxury coupe, cabriolet and fastback trio
The facelifted BMW 8 Series and hot M8 in coupé, cabriolet and Gran Coupé guises have been revealed ahead of their public debut at the Emelia Island concours in the US in early March.
Set for UK sale in the coming months, the 2022 8 Series receives the performance-inspired M-Sport styling package – previously an option – as standard. It imbues the trio of standard 8 Series models with a number of signature BMW M design elements, including a more heavily structured front bumper and rear diffuser as well as new-look 19in wheels and upgraded brakes with blue calipers on six-cylinder models.
The more powerful V8 models receive a similar treatment but with an added splitter element up front, M8-style exterior mirrors, a rear spoiler and a diffuser in what BMW describes as “Dark Shadow Metallic” colour. Also included are new 20in wheels and a M-Sport differential as standard.
Changes to the range-topping BMW M8 models are even more subtle, restricted to a range of new exterior colours, including a Shadow Line treatment for the first time, as well as newly designed 20in M-Sport alloy wheels.
In a development planned for other new BMW models, the new 8 Series and M8 come with an optional illuminated grille. Lightly altered in design to that seen on pre-facelift models, it comes as standard in combination with the ‘Iconic Glow’ package, with an illuminated surround and waterfall lighting for each of the grille elements. The illumination is activated when the door is opened and can be switched off manually.

The BMW 8 Series two-door Coupe and Convertible models as well as the four-door Gran Coupe, all receive a subtly redesigned front end as well as an upgraded infotainment system. What’s more, BMW’s M Sport package is now standard on all models, because why would you not want it?
This means that all models now come with aerodynamically optimised body features in the area of the front and rear apron as well as on the side skirts. The cars roll on double-spoke 19-inch M light alloy wheels with mixed tyres, because why would you want Marie Biscuits on an 8 Series?
The M850i xDrive variants receive additional M-specific design features, including aerodynamically optimised M exterior mirrors for the first time. These models ride on 20-inch Y-spoke wheels.

German tuning house Alpina has revealed an updated version of its flagship B8 Gran Coupé, following the recent reveal of the refreshed BMW 8 Series on which it is based.
The most obvious difference is the addition of the new BMW Iconic Glow illuminated grille, with new inserts in the air intakes creating a more aggressive look.
New colours from BMW’s palette are also available, with Portimao Blue, Sanremo Green, Skyscraper Grey, Frozen Pure Grey and Frozen Tanzanite Blue joining Alpina’s exclusive blue and green colours.
Inside, the touchscreen has been enlarged to 12.3in, two inches bigger than that in the pre-facelift car. Standard equipment includes the BMW Driving Assistant Professional, which introduces a number of semi-autonomous features, as well as a parking assistant.
Under the bonnet, the mechanicals remain unchanged. The updated model keeps its 613bhp twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 with power going to all four wheels, allowing for a 0-62mph time of 3.4sec and a top speed of 201mph. The company calls the vehicle The 8 X Jeff Koons with the first one headed for auction one to benefit charity in New York on April 4.
Will they find 99 people to part with their hard-earned money for this? More than likely but it is certainly not our cup of tea.
In front, there’s a yellow front fascia with blue accents below the headlights and white shapes on each side that look like the sound effect drawings in a comic book.

Big news in the world of colourful cars: Jeff Koons – the man behind one of the greatest ever BMW art cars, the 2010 M3 GT2 that competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans – has got his paintbrushes out once again to create this striking 8 Series Gran Coupe.
Bold pop arty design, isn’t it? Koons says: “It is sporty and flashy as well as minimalist and conceptual” and that “the lines are getting bigger on their journey from the hood towards the trunk, creating a sense of forward movement just as the ‘POP!’ and the vapor thrust design elements do.”
Certainly some strong colours in there – eleven of them on the exterior alone, in fact – and that’s before you get to the interior and see the red and blue seats that apparently reflect “the colours of superheroes from the comic book universe”.

Kicking off the project titled 8 X Jeff Koons with the first creation to be sold to benefit charity as part of a Christie’s auction in New York on the 4th of April. All subsequent models will hold the price tag of $350,995 when they go on sale in the US.
BMW USA is already taking pre-orders for the pop art inspired creation while one of the 99 units will be going on a global tour starting with a display at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City from the 1st to the 4th of April. If the East Coast city is too far off your radar, it will also be shown at the 16th Istanbul Contemporary, Paris Photo, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Art Dubai, West Bund Art & Design Fair Shanghai, and Art Basel Hong Kong.

Overall, the BMW 8 Series can struggle to feel quite special enough, which is a problem for a car that’s easily £100,000 once you add some options. It handles well and the V8 engine is great; but then it needs to be, since the 8 Series’ biggest threat might just come from within. Because a much more affordable 4 Series is hardly any less roomy than this, and now isn’t miles off for interior ambience either. It just doesn’t come with a V8.
