With that massive grille up front, the BMW X7 could hardly be accused of being too conservatively designed. But that hasn't stopped Lumma Design from previewing an upcoming widebody package set to make the Bavarian brand’s flagship crossover stand out even more.
As seen in the accompanying rendered images released by the tuner, the Lumma CLR X7 will be lowered and widened, gaining a body kit set to include new front and rear bumpers, chunkier side-skirts and even a carbon-fibre bonnet. The rear will also gain a spoiler kit, while a set of 24-inch Lumma CLR RS alloy wheels is also on the cards

BMW continues to defend new styling direction
Product boss stands by “strong characters and bold design,” being "convinced" that it is the right move for the brand
BMW has received “very positive” feedback to its radical shift in styling for certain models including the X7, according to product boss Peter Henrich.
Henrich told Autocar that he was “convinced” this bold styling direction under design boss Adrian van Hooydonk was the right way to go, and that customer data showed it was being well received.
“This is crucial for success,” said Henrich. “BMW customers are demanding. They want to express something and are not afraid of vehicles with strong characters. They are looking for it. So we have decided to focus even more on strong characters and bold design.

Remember the uprated BMW 850i xDrive McChip-DKR unveiled in 2019? Well, the folks at the German firm have now turned their attention to the Bavarian automaker’s X-badged derivatives, revealing two new performance kits for the X7 M50d and X5 M50d variants.
The 3,0-litre six-cylinder oil-burner generates 294 kW and 760 N.m of torque as standard in both derivatives, with the stage 1 upgrade adding 64 kW and 90 N.m to now total 358 kW and 850 N.m. However, for those seeking even more punch for their Bavarian SUV, McChip-DKR also offers a stage 2 upgrade.

At the end of 2019, Lumma Design previewed its widebody kit for the BMW X7. Now, the final product is here, and while it’s a bit more subtle than the initial design, it still adds a yet more aggression to the Bavarian firm’s flagship SUV.
The package includes extended wheel arches as well as a new apron up front along with two fresh spoilers (one mounted on the roof and the other just below the rear screen) and a diffuser at the rear. A set of Lumma CLR 24-inch RS alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile performance tyres is also part of the kit.

Wish BMW built a high-performance X7 M to battle the Mercedes-AMG GLS63? Well, the fresh-faced Alpina XB7 might just be the answer, boasting 457 kW from its twin-turbo V8.
Yes, the Buchloe-based BMW specialist has whipped the covers off its new XB7, which is based on the X7 M50i xDrive variant. The twin-turbo 4,4-litre V8’s peak outputs have been hiked from the standard 390 kW and 750 N.m to a healthier 457 kW and 800 N.m.
Despite tipping the scales at a hefty 2 655 kg, Alpina says the XB7 will hit 100 km/h from standstill in 4,2 seconds (and complete the 0-200 km/h dash in 14,9 seconds), which makes it around half a second quicker to three figures than the X7 M50i. The mammoth SUV tops out at 290 km/h in XB7 guise, while the ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission has been suitably upgraded to handle the extra oomph.
Alpina has, of course, implemented all manner of other updates, too, including the fitment of its own sports suspension with two-axle air springs and featuring new dome-bulkhead and reinforced torsion struts.

BMW’s largest SUV has been given a makeover by the Bavarian tuning experts at Manhart. The seven-seater receives a power hike, revisions to its exhaust system, a reworked chassis and alterations to the design.
Turning the X7 M50i into a more menacing SUV, Manhart has added a front splitter, a rear diffuser and a gold decal set, the latter contrasting with the black body paint. A set of 23-inch Concave One alloys finished in silk matte black has also been fitted, along with four 100 mm carbon-fibre exhaust tailpipes.
