Oh come now, don't play stupid. If it's a white rat , it will not represent the majority. If it's a zebra-striped rat, then the govt. will constantly complain about it not having enough black in it. So just make it black then i don't have to hear about it anymore .

I love the bok emblem right and it surely is going down because of qoutas.
But to insinuate (spelling) black ppl as rats yes guavamint are a bunch of crackers - but no need to sterotype black ppl in general - cos that is what the post that I qouted is doing - leaving an assumption or declaration that all black ppl are rats.

There are those few and far between that are doing good, those in the general public that are ignorant towards what their leaders are doing to line their own pockets, those that are aware, but powerless to do anything about it.

Making statements like "black rats" - then you as well just get back to the "K" word and not hide behind the bush of your distaste for the race.
Black ppl are not the problem as for as the removal of the emblem is concerned.
Colour should not even get into it - though its argumentative/paradoxal of me to say that, rather it should be argued that people with an agenda of their own and if they have power, will always muscle their opinions down on others.

I just don't appreciate the streotyping that post came along with.

I totaly agree, Its not very nice to be comparing the two to each other, the one is a scavenger and thats all it knows so u cannot blame it. the other well...............

There's this Casper de Vries show where he jokes about how the govt. is holding the whites for ransom by adding absurd laws and when the whites complain they just go "we're gonna change the springbok....be quiet" . So the whites stay quiet and after awhile it is used again when leverage is needed for another F***ed up political decision" .

Anyhow, he's joking around but it's true to an extend. I think it is seen as a constant power play made by govt to keep whites in place AND gain political support from blacks who are still "fighting the struggle even though it's almost 20 years past". So all i can say, just change it now and do it quickly , change the few city names and get it done.

All this crap is just a constant frustration and it's not gonna go away, it will certainly put the focus ELSEWHERE (i.e. govt. actually delivering a service) and not on "white racists that needs to be humiliated till they leave the country" . At some point surely the blacks got to figure there is nothing to take from whites anymore it's now time to make their OWN for change.

Keep the Bok. Simple as that. It's not like it's named after a symbol of Apartheid or some racist white guy. Though some may argue that the Bok itself IS a symbol of Apartheid. They need to be shut up. Got nothing to do with it.

And the Proteas are the cricket team. No good naming all SA sports teams the same thing.

What about a better name for our soccer team? I know they are crap, but "The Boys, The Boys" is hardly a great name really.
