Boks snub Soweto

It would be sensible for them to go to Soweto, and good PR too. Not going will just give ammo to those govt idiots who want to rename the team and dress them in pink jerseys.

The government will rename/disband the team, ban rugby altogether or do whatever they want, PR stunt or no.

From reports i hear on the radio, it sounds as though the Boks toured the special place of Soweto to early. The special people of Soweto are still asleep, so i hear.

Saw that on BBC, unfortunately they blame the reason for the low crowd levels as the boks not caring, short notice changes and racial devide. I think its more the rain maybe? What a farce after the big pilaba and runcuss created!.

It was just a few asking for them to tour Soweto, and how dare they so no. They had no choice but to go there.

Jump, and they must jump.

So the storm in a tea cup was really a storm in a tea cup.

As I have said in other threads on this forum, SA Rugby really is not serious about getting ALL the people of SA interested in the sport.

The whole country got behind the team regardless of political issues, and none more so than in Soweto, where I watched the match in Diepkloof. And instead beeing seen to thank people of Soweto for their support, they pull this stunt.

To tell the truth i won't even think of parading through Soweto myself, especially not in the NEW SA, HiJAck Bakkies..... :)

LoL, kk i'll switch to blast from a zombie... Will i be able to recover???

what would be the point? who is going to cheer for them?
if anything they might get sworn at for blocking traffic :)

"These are the communities and their kids who never get a chance to see these people play because they cannot afford the tickets to the games. It was a lifetime opportunity for them."
Who in their right mind would pay the stupid ticket prices anyway. Better watching the game on TV - more close up action and different angles.
Final tickets ranged between R5000 and R35000 - GOEIE F0K!!!

From the reports I heard, virtually no-one turned out to greet them.

Like anything else in this country, make a big pilaba or issue and then open the racial tonations and then what happens? Nothing! and then they (The BBC) blame the racial divide. IMHO the "Braindead" tried some cheap shots to create more tensions and when the Soweto trip happened the wind was taken out of them sails. Well done organizers YOU shut them up and the lack of participation goes to show! At least the Madiba visit was something I believe. Wish I was there, how I wish I could ever meet the man!
