Morne Steyn missed one tackle and that wasn't even his man. That isn't an excuse, but you can't state he has a weak defensive game. What about the try he saved in his 1st test against the BL?

You will not convince M_H or Lance, both are rugby experts and die hard Pienaar supporters.

Lets get one thing clear, I hated morne steyn untill about 11 months ago when he started showing he is a flyhalf and not a converted inside centre.

IMO he is in better form than Pienaar at the moment and should be given a start.

Oh, I understand Morne needs more and more and more chances.... is he a white mechanic by any chance?

He has shown he can kick, run, straighten the line and defend good enough to be included in the springbok team. Also he is the player on form.

Everything has been said... you unfortunately appear to only read the first three words of each post. It may be a concentration issue. Look through this again and focus specifically on natural flair and game breaking ability versus kicking skill.

I agree 100% that pienaar on form is great, he has flair like his dad use to have and he can dictate the game with his boot. BUT and this is the problem: He is not on form at the moment and his goal kicking is pathetic. Sorry but on international level against teams like the All blacks and Aus you can not afford to piss away 11 points in 40 mins.

Pienaar is like Frédéric Michalak at the moment. He should be on the bench till he is fully recovered from all his aches and pains.

We cannot be sure who is better because only one of them has had the chance to play. Give morne a couple games and then we see, not this sub BS and getting stuffed into a second team.

Never said morne is better I said he is in form at the moment.... see the S14? He overshadowed Donald (the all black flyhalf in the S14 final).

I have no doubt pienaar can be a brilliant flyhalf. But your flyhalf needs to be able to kick for goal.... so either he should start spending a little more time with percy or he should bench till he has regained his form.

Another thing is Pienaar looks like he has not healed up 100% in 2 out of the last 3 games he had to leave the field. Why not bench him and let him heal up 100%? Double bonus as then your nr1 choice on flyhalf gets the chance to recover and you get to see what your second in command can do.

I'd take that back. Earl might have the game of his life, and thus unseat morne and pienaar for six months while the coaches try and recapture earls moment of glory by giving him as much game time as possible.
