Bombardier Cseries thread

That would be good for them, but they seem to be putting their hopes on the Chinese at the moment. The problem with both scenarios is that it will take some time before revenue starts flowing and it seems like they are running out of time.

Proplem with the Chinese is that the west dont seem to have a lot of confidence in them. No airline outside of China have ordered the C919. The MRJ at least has got some international orders, so their reputation will be better suited to Bombardier I would say.

True, the West only seem to get interested in China when offset deals are required.

Quebec government buys 49.5% stake in CSeries

Quebec's provincial government will invest $1 billion and take a 49.5% stake in the Bombardier CSeries programme, officials disclosed today.

Bombardier's 50.5% share in the programme will transfer to a new limited partnership. Investissement Quebec will pay two $500 million instalments on 1 April and 30 June 2016.

"This move will also keep CSeries operations here in Quebec for at least another 20 years," says Jacques Daoust, minister of the economy, innovation and exports.

The government bailout comes after Airbus spurned an offer by Bombardier to buy a stake in the CSeries programme earlier this month.

Bombardier is scheduled to complete airworthiness certification of the CS100 by year-end. The investment introduces a new flow of cash to support the entry into service and production ramp-up beginning next year.

The Canadian manufacturer has won 243 firm orders for the CSeries family, which also includes the CS300.

Bombardier expected to announce multi-billion dollar CSeries deal with Delta

Bombardier Inc. is reported to be on the verge of announcing a big order for its CSeries passengers jets with large U.S. carrier Delta Air Lines Inc.

The Globe and Mail says Bombardier will announce Thursday it has won a multi-billion dollar deal with Delta.

Multiple reports have suggested that Delta could purchase up to 125 CSeries aircraft.

"This order might well mean the difference between life and death for the [CSeries] program," said Richard Aboulafia, vice-president of analysis at Teal Group Corp., an aerospace and defence consulting firm in Fairfax, Va.

"If signed, it establishes the CSeries as a viable and competitive third player in the single aisle market. It would also give them the kind of production numbers needed to be competitive against Airbus and Boeing," ...................
