Are you concerned about the 13.4 or the fact that you cannot donate blood? I suggest you take 2 teaspoons of BLACKSTRAP molasses daily. My count is only 3 and I am on Bidomak, Ferrimed as well as Blackstrap molasses which contains a lot of iron.

I passed out nearly every time I donated blood and eventually my iron was so low they told me I may not donate for a year. I drank Liviton which boosted my iron but I'm not sure if that means my iron level is really higher or I just have Liviton in my system...

Actually I am not concerned about anything, I suspected it was an equipment issue and the tests confirmed that. So far I am on 40 units donated.

i used to be a regular donor before i started taking warfarin. whenever i donated, my iron was "too low". i wouldexplain to them that i was highly active (super low BP and pulse, too), that i usually flagged a low iron level when donating, and that i was always fine afterwards with no dizziness or other advere symptoms. they let me donate more than 40 times.

I'll go again next week Monday. They also come to our company once every two months so it pretty convenient for me. Now that the low iron is listed on my donor profile it won't stop me again
