I've got a crappy Linksys WRK54G (apparently unhackable :(). It's sitting in my office on one end of the house, however there is little to no signal in my bedroom on the other end of my house.

Does anyone have any (very cheap!) ideas that might boost the router's signal so that I can access my LAN from my bedroom? I've already moved the router as far as I can go, and I'm a bit too broke at the moment to fork out any dosh for a repeater.

TIA.

Stick a mirror behind it, or make a hole in the back end of a pringles can and stick it onto the stock antenna - point it toward where the signal needs to get to.....

Stick a mirror behind it,

yip...one of our members used a baking tray behind his, increased the signal and therefore speed a bit.

otherwise open it it up and solder on an external antenna if it does not have a detachable antenna. Would not recommend unless you are willing to bugger up the AP. but can be done if your soldering skills are up to scracth

Well, not cheap, but one of those Linksys Range Extenders worked for me.

Have the same problem with Netgear DG834GT. Gonna have to try some of these tricks when i move into my new place in August. Any other tips would also be appreciated.
