Hello all

I have a Dell Inspiron N5050 preloaded with Win7 starter.

Since yesterday it boots the Dell splash screen then rebootsbto the dell splash screen and so forth.

I have performed all the on board diagnostic tests with no error.

The hdd doesn't make unusual sounds and when I booted using hiren it accessed the hdd no issues.

Could the windows installation be whacked?

Any ideas?

Doesn't progress that far to allow F8

Try and boot off a live disc, does that work?

Can you get into the bios or f12(?) for the boot menu?

Yes. I've reset bios to default and gone into F12 to perform motherboard diagnostics which are all clear

I suspect it would be quicker to get all your data off the drive and do a fresh windows install than faffing around.

Did you run check disk off MiniXP?
