Borked LNB?

my signal keeps breaking, non stop, to a point where i dont even want to try and watch tv anymore!

sometimes it goes completely dead for a second or two then comes back.

i've tried reseting, i put it off for a while, reset to factory defaults, nothing seems to work. i even bought a new decoder thinking the other one was too old

My last one used to bork in the rain or heavy wind ..... I put a baggie over it, tied it with a rubber band and had no more worries ever again .... the signal strength even improved.

this happens all the time, doesnt matter what the weather conditions are.

some of the newer channels wont work at all, tells me to press menu 13 but nothing, have to pull the power cable out and wait a few minutes

nope the dish is on the side of our chimney, which hasnt been used, and the cord runs down the wall and into the lounge

tis almost 11 years old

A new LNB isn't that expensive though. Should be able to get one for around R300.
