Boxing

Joshua must have respect for himself and the sport, he must retire at once, he has clearly lost interest in boxing.

Lead uppercut at the end. High risk. Tried it a few times (Joshua) during the fight. None worked. Dubois timed him perfectly. Night-night.

STFU He was caught early and could not weather it or take his time finding range. Dubois found his range quickly and by the looks of it those jabs hurt. A lot.
Getting rocked isn’t exactly an easy thing to deal with even as a pro when you’ve been hit in the head many times.
Not a good fight from him.

How's Saudi prince Turki Alalshikh just before the start of the 5th round.
Off With His Head !!

I was so bored by Joshua I cannot even stomach watching the highlights, is this new guy the next big thing?

Not that new, he has pretty solid power ( reflected in his K.O. record) but I dont feel he is on an elite level, I would also be surprised if he ever gets there.
If Joshua had lasted 2 more rounds, DDD would have gassed as he always does and it would have been over.

DDD did give Usyk a hard time initially as well, and there was debate over the low blow. He has a very good punchers chance in the first 5 rounds, and then he falls off.
Due to size and style, I think he would have more "success" against Usyk than Fury, but he isnt good enough on almost all days to beat either

Hes definitely not on an elite level but has destructive power no doubt.

I'm sure we will see entertaining fights but i dont really see him beating usyk or fury.

That was a clear low blow, and was correctly called as such.

Also remember that hes very well protected by frank Warren. I think Joe joyce is better than him.

But lets see him agains Big Bang Zhang next. I hope Turki will make that one happen

It wasnt THAT low, and Usyk didnt have it easy in the beginning

If that goes beyond round 4, it will be two super gassed doing much heavy breathing for the next 8

Usyk usually starts measured and starts turning it on from the 5th/6th rounds in most of his fights.

it was a clear low blow.

50/50 if part of his glove touched skin in this instance. Did Usyk milk it. Yes. but why should he have to. The rules of boxing are clear. Punches below the belt line are illegal.

Its a clear Low blow. Point should be taken. If the ref lets it go, Usyk is compromised for the rest of the fight.

Over the years this has (Wrongly so) been up to referees to interpret because you have clowns wearing their shorts up to their nipples like Tyson Fury. The top of Usyks shorts were on his navel on this night... anything below that is a low blow.

solution is simple. enforce the rules of boxing. and tell fighters to wear their shorts properly

Thats all i have to say about that.

I dont see it going passed 5 rounds. both of these guys throw bombs... will be a good HW fight to watch.

LETS FRICKING GO!

Beterbiev by TKO in the 5th
Lost interest in boxing as far back as GGG - Canelo 1
It's been a while but I'm interested again
I'm hoping for an Artur KO but yikes Bivol is as crafty as they come.

Great fight. I had it dead even. The 116-112 card was way off, IMO.

good fight... a bit underwhelming as i expected more action from both guys... very close tho...

that said, this really was the best of the best (maybe not at their best) so it ended up being quite the chess match.

Agree 116 - 112 is way off.. 115 - 113 either way would have been fair. a draw is also fair.

personally i had beterbiev winning 7 - 5

glad that hes undisputed, he deserves it. much better resume than Bivol IMO

Bivol was really good in the first half, beterbiev is a slow starter, but bivol looked good to me, except his punches did absolutely nothing.
I think if he didnt gas he would have won on points, I understand the decision, beterbiev ended so strong, but a decision either way or a draw could all have been fair.
I think Bivol will win the rematch though if he learns from this, both very good boxers and I enjoyed the fight, been good to see proper boxing for a change
