Boy, 15, 'sold' for jail rape.

Isn't it possible for pharmaceutical companies to make a drug that causes someone to become temporarily impotent and without a sex drive. I can't imagine it being so difficult to produce.

Then, I say that all prisoners in prisons everywhere in the world should have this put in their food. They should be kept in a eunuch state for as long as they are in prison.

If after long term exposure they become permanently impotent ... then too bad. Long term inmates deserve it. But at least short inmates will be able to have their lives back afterwards.

I didn't imply that producing it will be plain easy ... just that pharmaceutical companies have made much more complex drugs than something that will inhibit hormone production.
 
Although no one deserves to be raped I find a big difference between a grown man being incarcerated for embezzling millions of poor people's money and some underage boy who stole a pair of trousers from a large retailer.

No it isn't simple to inhibit a hormone from performing just one of its functions. Nor would you want to just completely turn off testosterone.
 
I recall a story a few years ago, where a woman was imprisoned for 2 years for stealing R6.50. She committed suicide 3 days later.

And a few months ago, a guy was imprisoned for 1 year or R100 fine for stealing shoe polish so his little brother could have polished shoes for school. He couldn't pay the fine so he was sent to jail

Seriously, how the hell does our justice system work? Murderers and rapists get bail and just run away, or get of get off scott free.

Good question, I for one would be for it. And prisoners should not have the right to vote as well.

I wonder if the twits that put him in the "adult" jail are going to be punished?

I thought they were required to keep adults and children separate. It was standard practice at one time to just put everyone together.

Those type of silly sentences I have seen. And they unfairly punish those without money. I know people who, back in the 80s, received sentences of that nature, x years or y rands, where there was no way the two were even remotely similar punishments. They paid obviosuly, because they could get the money, and stayed out of jail. A poor person committing the same crime would spend time in jail.

Murderers and rapists get bail and just run away, or get of get off scott free.

I think it happens that they do sometimes get bail when they should not, but how often are murderers and rapists, where there is evidence against them, not being found guilty and imprisoned?

Rapists/pedophiles? You would be surprised. Its near impossible to get those guys in jail unless you have video footage of them doing it and smiling to the camera while they do so..
 
Read a book by Gayton McKenzie "The Choice". This kind of thing goes on in prison all the time and the guards do nothing about it. They don't come to check what all the screaming is about because the gangs (26's i think) pay them not to.

it could be misused

maybe surgical, if the rape case is absolutely 100% provable, and it is a second time or something

otherwise we should build larger better jails to keep these people away from society longer
