Vanderbijlpark - A racist but "good-natured" greeting between two school friends has led to one of them being stabbed by fellow pupils who took offence. The knife only barely missed the 16-year-old victim's heart.

Two pupils from Carel de Wet Technical High School in Vanderbijlpark greeted each other by saying "Hello, my boertjie", "Hello, my kaffertjie" on Friday morning.

A third schoolboy, aged 15, took offence when he heard the two boys greeting each other this way and confronted Jeandré Kruger, a Grade 10 pupil, about the matter.

"The boy (who took offence), a Grade 9 pupil, grabbed me by my shirt and yanked me around, so I hit my head against his head," said Jeandré.

Joke

"The two boys have been greeting each other like that for ages and to them it's a joke," said Johan Kruger, Jeandré's father, on Monday.

Maybe they should have tried going to a teacher about the issue instead the 4 of them goes and stab the white "racist" :rolleyes:
 
But on a positive note, good to see there might be people who will be able to laugh it of one day.

This is the part I find wierd about our laws in this country.

This victim at the time of this attack had the right to kill his attacker in self defence. However now since time has passed the attacker will now only be charged with attempted murder and get a lesser sentence.

My point being Death during such an ultercation would have been justified. But now he will only be spending 5 years in jail :confused: Attempted murder should bare the same sentence as murder. Just because he was too stupid to stab the guy in the heart he now gets a sentence 22 years shorter ... :mad:

What do you not understand? they greeted each other in what some may call a racist way but to them it was more a joke than racist.

Don't be naive pitbull. He won't go to jail. The way the story tells it, the gr9 guy reacted violently, got punched and then took out his knife. It was a racist thing and you know what become of those.

As for attempted murder, shooting in the direction of someone is attempted murder. You want some knife wielding robber in your house to charge you with murder after you shot a hole in your own roof to scare him away?

Because those boys didn't see anything wrong with it - yet everyone is making that word to be bad. those two kids have more brains than the rest of the country put together.

Then have it defined like they do in the US.
 
They had knives at school so actually it would have been pre-meditated murder - death sentence in some places. Too bad that's 4 kids that have just screwed up their lives from their own hatred.

In Texas, all 4 of them would have been given death sentences if the boy was killed. The 3 friends of the attacker knew his intentions and did nothing. They are also guilty of murder then.

Damn I love Texas :D
