Braai

I have been looking for a gas braai for my balcony.

requirements:
1) must be gas
2) must be small(ish as it is only for 2)
3) must be aestheticly pleasing (see pic below) (none of those normal ones from Game/Builders/Makro etc)

Keep your eyes peeled on our website - we will shortly be loading the entire MegaMaster range and they have some fabulous options when it comes to build-in braais. It is also quite possible that your chimney is blocked. Perhaps Santa had a mishap?

I would also think its a blocked chimney.

Nope, have checked for any Santa type issues.

The main issues as far as I can tell are:
1. The flute is large enough, but restricted by the size of the hole in the concrete slab as well as the concrete roof.
2. There is no "vane" / canopy that collects the smoke and channels it up and out.
3. The open area to the front is too large.

and then some.

I am looking for an experience professional to install something that works properly.

Best I can suggest is to contact somebody like JetMaster - they are the professionals when it comes to fireplaces etc and would certainly be able to assist with "vanes" and the like.

Nope, there is a chimney (asbestos pipe painted like brickwork), the problem is the hole in the concrete slab at the top is the size of a standard brick.

I think you should hunt down and kill the designer/builder to stop the proliferation of that kind of monstrosity

I think I will assemble a posse to hunt down the monstrous designer in who's mind this abortion was conceived :-)

Actually, it sounds like even more effort, I just want to braai!!! Aaag please daddy! Can we braai????

I have actually tried that and you will be amazed of how much trouble that sounds like to them. They seem to be happy to provide any product, but no one is actually willing to take ownership to solve my problem.

In that case I suggest you look for little fireplace specialists in your area. I know of a couple in Jhb but I am unsure as to where you are based. Quite often the smaller guys are more prepared to go the extra mile.

If you are right at the top of the pile...core=drill that hole to the same size as the fluke underneath it. Fix another fluke above the bigger hole to the slab. Attach "Windmaster".
