I always try to stay away from the naysaying and stick to factual precedence of what has happened to people like Gama.

As @ToxicBunny said, it's going to be a very slow and painful process, with the tried and tested Stalingrad techniques, but ultimately when he is convicted he is not going to get away with a fine, he will be going to jail.

Unfortunately for people like Gama who are just business people getting into corrupt activities, they sometimes forget they are not politicians so they are dispensible, the country will not descend into chaos when he is thrown in jail, the corrupt politicians will always find another willing participant like him, rinse and repeat until forever.

100% agree on him being expendable, he served his purpose and is now more of a problem that he is worth so I even expect the Stalingrad stuff to stutter somewhat.

But for 'legal aid', surely there has to be some criteria? This guy is involved in R30 million fraud case and asking for legal aid - surely it can be demonstrated that he has the means for legal aid? Or do these guys move to squatter camps and plead poverty?
Yea there are financial criteria for legal aid.

ANC has taught them well. Public opinion matters...make it look like he didn't steal anything. He needs legal aid, he couldn't have stolen money. It's a conspiracy against him (sounds like JZ ne)... by certain people etc etc.

And then the baddies sell the story it's all conspiracies against them yada yada.

Look at Jacob.. how he sells the stories against him.

Great news. Hopefully they all turn on their buddies and the whole rats nest is unraveled. A man can dream.
Since the NPA finally made the arrest its safe to think they have a strong case since there are plenty who are still running around, for them to choose him must mean something, he would probably be weighing his options.

I think this is also a given, once a few of the dominos fall, a fair chunk more will go with them as their "friends" spill the beans on everything.

Regarding the parliament discussing smthe state capture reports, one of the solutions the need to thrash out is suggestions on how to fast track court cases because at this rate the Zuptoids are going to come back and rescue their people from facing justice.

SA needs specialised courts. Fraud, corruption and money laundering, traffic courts, family courts, criminal courts, children's courts and several others.

We already do have the commercial crimes court but even so we still seem to be massively incapacitated.

That's good.
Just need to try and make sure the trial moves along hopefully this time they have arrested on a solid case and there's no further investigation nonsense.

Transnet infrastructure is all but destroyed. Years of looting and mismanagement have left it a shadow of it's former self. How this has not happened earlier is a mystery of some epic proportions. These guys must have been well connected and their usefulness to their task masters has run out now that they are "former". So the question is who was protecting them while they were "current"??

Funny thing is that yes Transnet is in a bad position but it still in a much better position than many other SOEs like Eskom, SAA and Denel.

Unfortunately Covid got in the way but it looks to be in good hands and in a less deeper hole than Eskom, so recovery is not impossible.

Transnet is better than the others but in a much worse position than before these leeches started. It is spiralling down a drain costing this economy billions in money never mind the jobs that could be created if there was capacity.

This whole country is recoverable. SA could be a shining beacon to the rest of the world, a powerhouse literally, more than enough to go around for everyone..
Completely agree with you here. Not all is lost, like some especially here on myBB make it out to be.

We have the natural resources, manufacturing capability, potential, etc. With the right gov we can be a powerhouse, hell, we might be even able to go hand-to-hand with the West and the East on an economic and social scale.
Edit: Not just under their feet, but keeping SA as their own personal gold mine and be damned with everyone else. These are men with no scruples who play South Africa against itself with divisive politics and try to keep the South African population all wrapped up and too busy to notice by having them all at each others throats.
Yup, cause a SA united is a SA unbeatable.
