Interesting how they get arrested and released on bail same day.

They are being charged with a schedule 5 offence.
Schedule 5 requires a formal bail application.
Bail is automatically denied until a formal bail application takes place - usually 14days after 1st appearance.

Did they appear in court, and did the state oppose any application?

I've never read of a corruption accused being held without bail that long. They all get catch and release within the hour.

Then I assume that they expected their arrests, and that their lawyers had affidavits at the ready, hence the process is expedited as long as a Judge is available for the hearing. The state took the affidavits under consideration, and settled that they won't oppose the bail application. All negotiated, and legally procedural.

"’m suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
I pay R12,750 per month for school fees for my minor children.
I have a civil judgment against me with the outstanding debt relating to the cost of R420,000.
In July 2022, I had another civil judgment against me of an amount of approximately R5-million and I am appealing the judgment.
In the month August 2022 I had a summons issued against me for the recovery of the amount of R4,300,000.
I’m defending this action.

I receive a monthly pension of R52,000 per month.”

Regarding his assets, the court heard that Molefe owns a property, an Audi A4, a Nissan Navara, a Ford Bantam, a Harley Davidson motorbike and BMW motorbike.

So you see pal - was not worth it to **** your life up this.

He has much more stashed away from his working selling his soul to the Guptas in service of Zuma at both Transnet and Eskom. Suppose that stash wouldn't be that easily accessible without attracting undue attention.

Asking on a serious note because depending on what his response is he may want to head to an A&E instead of wasting time on a forum. I get what you mean. Yeah, he'll need to go straight in to a doctor rather than faffing around with Dr Google and forums. Have edited my post too.

It is possible that he has access to stash but I don't think it entered his mind that the party will end so perhaps he hasn't got much. Also, court has ordered him to pay back with interest - granted he would fight (and is fighting this out) but still.

Serves him right though.

I guess we all have our own sad tunes, I don't wish bad upon any person but we can't allow society to keep perpetuating this image that corruption has no consequences. Nothing is more soothing than a poetic justice served with a nice sad tune....
