Don't you think there's a little flaw in your argument? The vast majority of South Africans aren't criminals. You have the highest murder rate in the world and you are wanting people not to protect themselves, seriously? You are either an ANC lackey, a criminal, or very liberal.
I agree it's a shame the kid got shot, but accidents happen, and unfortunately in S.A. those accidents normally end in death. Tis the nature of the beast.
Yes, and you would agree there is a huge difference between a tactical situation, and an 11-year-old in the back yard.
What could possibly be an extenuating circumstance for this guy blowing away a child, in the YARD, not the HOUSE, while visiting his granny? How do you think black people feell about this baas shooting the child in the yard of the madam? Do you think this incident is good for South Africa? How do you think the lawmakers and the courts will respond to it?
He died about 30 minutes later, after the employer tried to perform CPR on him.
"I blame myself," Ramolefe told The Times newspaper.
"[The employer] was just trying to protect my grandson."
Earlier in the day on Tuesday, there was an attempted break-in at the Johannesburg house

I FULLY support the governement in taking away weapons from some of the crazies in this forum.
Shame on you all.
Horrible accident but its hardly a justification to disarm the nation because of the actions of one idiot. What next - ban all cars because my neighbour gets pissed and ploughs into a bus stop? Here is a perfect example of why castle doctrine is flawed.
Get someone to translate if you don't understand it:
http://jv.news24.com/Beeld/Suid-Afrika/0,,3-975_2535119,00.html
The translated headline reads "Scared resident shoots 11-year old"
It is about the owner of a castle in Parkmore Johannesburg, who mistook the 11 year old son of his maid for a burglar, and killed him with his hunting rifle. Or did he "neutralise" him?
He is in jail and is being charged with murder.
Read the article to get the whole picture.

You gotta love the conservative relics on this forum.
They make sure to cover everything in their debate against anyone.
Label! Label! Label! I say![]()
Yep, disarm the police (eventually).I don't think plazma started posting in this thread with that position. He was merely advocating responsibility in gun ownership.
The only disarmament he spoke of to begin with was tongue in cheek based on some callous posts. See Mila's wonderful last example of an attitude that tells us that in too many cases, guns are in the wrong hands.
And you did not see the sarcasm?
I like pressing the wrong buttons
Yep, disarm the police (eventually).![]()
Finally, some sense!
Imagine the button-presser, armed and dangerous, deliberately taunting you into a fight/argument.... so he can kill you??![]()

Well, you did mention that you are in law enforcement, and we all know the employment criteria.Well, if you want to be that childish, then...
No, but I think you be dyslexic, or worse.
Does it look like I have a reading problem? No?

Jakie Selebi a typical example.
