On Sky News, their breaking news ticker has

Mugabe certain to win election after MDC pulls out

To whom exactly is this breaking news?

I have this funny suspision that this withdraw from the election was well planned. He knew it was not within the notice period. I think the MDC will blindside Mugabe and take it.

But that is just me with some wishfull thinking

I don't understand how they can have elections with only one guy in it...

Well, in theory - you could have a mass abstention. People tend to forget that you can vote for any guy on the ballot sheet, or spoil the ballot, thereby abstaining.

Not that I think it's likely, but I guess it is a possibility.

I wonder what the ballot looks like...just one block?

If I was there Id still vote for MDC!

Looks like the touchscreen type voting station...I saw a court video of a dude who wrote the software for the electronic voting machine that they used in the American elections. The guy rigged it so that Bush would win no-matter what.

The video was his sworn affidavit in from of court, makes you kind of wonder whats the point.

Well what does abstaining mean? In Zimbabwe, nothing. Just like the election. It doesn't matter if there's one or two or 20 people in the election, it's not a democratic election and therefore a waste of time. Morgan pulled out to show just how stupid the whole election process in Zim is and probably to cause more international interest/pressure.

Why bother voting if you can't only vote for one person (although he doesn't deserved to be called a person, an animal maybe, but that an insult to animals)
