BREAKING: Prosecutor Gerrie Nel quits

I'm really amazed at the level of hate towards Afriforum. Most of it just smacks of virtue signalling.

Ugh, I'm so over this world. For all its faults Afriforum is being made out to be South Africa's new AWB when it just isn't.
Steve Hofmeyr is basically their face. That alone is reason enough to stay far away...

As always, the twitterati are just painting themselves as a bunch of complete retards
I'm sure Afrikaans people are rejoicing currently. Their beloved son is coming home to fight the swart gevaar. Abelungu oSathane https://t.co/36uC7MSSHX

WHAT? As an Afriforum member, and hater of everything Hofmeyr, this is news to me.

I see Afriforum as a similar institution to OUTA (albeit maybe more focussed on white minority issues). And the rumour is that Afriforum also wants to launch a legal prosecuting arm, likened to a private NPA

Fixed that for you.

This move by Nel kinda confirms that rumour.

Good to support any organisations that try keep government honest. Maybe Freedom Under Law or the Helen Suzman Foundation, must be many other alternatives too..

Those would have been more credible. Heck even OUTA...

No, but they do share mutual goals. They have distanced themselves on occasion and Steve has taken up with Front Nasionaal some time ago.

It is also no secret that many on this community dislike the FF+, AfriForum and Solidariteit.

It perpetuates an us vs them mentality. Afriforum is far from alone in that arena - but it's still true.

I just don't see the same accusations levelled against the same organisations on the other side of the coin. Ala the PPF, BBC etc. etc.

Unfortunately if they didn't exist they would be shooting themselves in the foot because you can bet your ass the others wouldn't suddenly stop. Classic Prisoners Dilemma.

And honestly, in my view. They mostly carry out there business in a legitimate way. You can't compare them, to say, some of the christian organisations in the States.

Ye the AWB was actually quite ineffective in their whining.... Afriforum are way more effective.

A clear example of the us vs. them mentality. "But what about them?"

The same is true of the organisations you mentioned. They appeal to a larger demographic so it might appear that there is a smaller opposition to them, but that doesn't make their stance right either...

As I said. Prisoners Dilemma.

Entities catering to their ‘own’ markets will always exist. They are by design more orientated to their own goals to which they allocate their available resources. More niche in a sense, but the entity in question and Solidariteit have championed ‘other’ people’s rights as well where there is a mutual interest, mainly with language, agricultural activities and employment, and corruption in business and government. The positives in my opinion outweigh the negatives.

It is that many people cannot associate themselves with these entities.

Afriforum is like the white version of Mzwanele Manyi's PPF. Trying to convert a victim mentality into a political position.

Hardly, Afriforum actually do some good.

PPF is just Manyi's little plaything where he can be a retard.
