Bridging the digital divide for all

The BingBee, a touch pad which was developed four years ago to help bridge the digital divide and give poorer communities access to computer technology, is a success at the site where it was established in Grahamstown.

I really hope guys like BingBee gets funding from Government to roll out more of these kiosks, and not some group with a great powerpoint presentation and a bag full of promises. I often found that guys who have a winning model already, and are keen to do the work, don’t get funding to further their projects. A sad reality is that projects like Gauteng Online – a dismal failure – would rather be funded to the tune of billions
