Bring on the Shamatank!

Cat dps still has some of the most punishing priority and proc based rotations around, iirc. Either you do top rate dps, or failsuck at it.

Personally the reason i don't tank any more is threefold. 1:I don't need to any more since i don't need to farm Triumph badges, 2:Raids don't need me to tank, so I'm not needed in that role and 3:I enjoy occasional PVP so my second spec is being used for that.
My advice is if you really start getting annoyed by the lack of tanks, roll one yourself. You'll probably figure out pretty soon why there aren't more of them around.

Tanking has been trivialised. Tanking used to be a lot of fun in TBC.

1) There wasn't an abundance of defense to go around. Reaching the defense cap took effort.
2) You had to accommodate your itemisation for crushing blows and finely tune your gear all the time. I used to have a 2-3 item sets for different bosses.
3) You had to have a good TPS rotation and it was very easy for DPS to pull agro from you. These days I very very rarely call out for a DPS to drop his agro.
4) You had fewer "oh sh##" buttons and had to use your trinkets/abilities at the right time.

Being a paladin tank in TBC was a constant uphill, in a good way, but I got so bored in Naxx I changed my main to resto shaman.

I know you missed it, but I was comparing Mage DPS to kitty dps, and asking about elemental dps vs kitty dps. Also, if you had read my post instead of going into a diaper rage I actually complimented the druid heavily. IE.. they make orsm tanks and orsm healers. So l2r?

Im sorry I got your panties all twisted up by calling kitty dps mediocre dps. However, since I tend to only listen to advice by people who know what they are talking about, Ill chill and wait for someone like Skurm to tell me where a kitty really sits on the charts. I agree, Shaman DPS sucks balls, ive only seen them get up to 11k.

Voicy, ignore semaphore, normally when he responds to me on this forum he pulls the tampon out and goes all fishwife. You should have seen the last time we engaged each other over macs.

What are the top 5 dps`ers? Does elitestjerks have a list of the top dps atm?

TBH I have no clue. They used to be really imba, but i haven't really raided with any myself. We have like 1 feral drood in our entire guild and he's tanking more than dps.

My guess at top dps is rogues, hunters, mages, and warlocks, not necessarily in that order. Which is exactly as it should be. I've seen a handful of really good ele shammies but it's pretty rare to see a good one. I've also seen the occasional good ret paladin and unholy dk, but there's far more bad hybrid dps than good it seems, and that doesn't seem to be entirely the classes' faults but seemingly the players behind them. 'Pure' dps seem to have a lot more leeway and tend to make more sense in terms of speccing and gearing appropriately, is my guess. I can't tell ya how many terribly specced DK DPS I come across, simply because people seem to have no clue how the class's different trees interact. 61 points Blood? Complete fail, although you can get away with that as an Arcane Mage fer eg.

Best rogue on the server haha..wish I had that diagram blizz posted a while ago about the top dps classes per hardmode encounter. Was quite a read,it showed rogues were clearly beating their competitors by a larger than 10% margin - thus the nerf to Instant Poisons. The ordering there was Rogue/Mage/Lock in order,ferals featured below warriors and DKs. Don't let your limited parlay of experience or hero-worship cloud raw factual numbers garnered by those who actually designed the encounters

I will try to see if i can find an old world of logs fight tonight with regards to this druid, its got nothing to do with hero worship. In the end i dont care either way. I was merely stating that there dps is on par with others, thou what i also find amusing is the fact it shows warriors low, i've seen warriors on multiple different servers pulling 11k+

It should also be mentioned on the encounter, having to stop dps and run away etc..

According to your precious link posted the feral in that was in the top 6, the mage,lock way more down on the list.

Clearly you havent went through all 50 or more of the logs or you'd not make such a statement. I posted a link to Multiple logs,where averaging of these logs clearly evidences a distinct lead of ferals above mages and locks I don't know. That or your reading comprehension is lacking.
