Good day, I would please like to know what to do to get fibre into my complex (Santiago, 32 Jacobson Drive, Lynnwood Ridge). What would be the process of getting people to actually bring the line in from the street exchange? Since it is a complex, there are multiple houses that I need to ask for permission to use the existing route to pull through a line just for myself, since this will be difficult to bargain with and since the existing route has angles in it that fibre would not work with in any case, who do I contact to get someone to dig a ditch for it and how much would that cost to bring an exchange in that could support all of the houses?

No FNO will enter a complex to go just to your house. They will want to get the agreement of the HOA/BC/RA (whichever is applicable) and build a route that services all the houses.

To that end, my colleague in PTA is looking at this area, so if you PM me you details (or details of the responsible person in your complex) I will get her to contact you to assess this.

Usually complexes require the Body Corporate to initiate a project to get fibre - there is benefit to everyone doing it so all / majority of owners would need to agree. A fibre Network operator (Openserve or Frogfoot) would then be approached and a deal struck and the work would begin. Most / All complexes do not allow individuals to do this autonomously as its seen as an Infrastructure change / improvement.

The problem is that we as FNO's dig up (or at least work in) the common property, so we need authorisation from the BC/HOA.
