British Passport or Visa

My wife's father was born in the UK and she was born in South Africa (1991), We are not sure if her parents were married when she was born as that is a requirement for her citizenship by descent as my wife lived with her Grandparents as her mother was not able to look after her.

We are looking into moving to the UK and my Wife is a care assistant with 7 years experience. We were wondering if she can apply for a Health and care visa instead of trying to get her citizenship as that would make it easier for us as a family to move over....Any advice would be appreciated as we would like to know if this is worth trying to get as Spouse visa for a family from South Africa are very costly

I know off family which went ancestral visa route, so that family can all go at once. But the mother did qualify for citizenship and cause problem trying to apply for leave to remain.

I'd first find out if her Dad was married at the time of her birth. Because if that's the case, she can get a British Passport - and you can get a Spouse visa.

Skilled Work Visa is also possible; lot's of people go over on those.

Spouse Visa for just one person is around R100k - I am going through that process now.
