British series, mini-series and dramas .....

A lot less guns in play than American TV especially in the cop shows.

That is because.

The United Kingdom is made up of four constituent countries: England, Scotland, Wales (which make up Great Britain), and Northern Ireland. In Northern Ireland, all police officers carry firearms. In the rest of the United Kingdom, the majority of police officers do not carry firearms, that duty is instead carried out by specially-trained firearms officers. This originates from the formation of the Metropolitan Police Service in the 19th century, when police were not armed, partly to counter public fears and objections over armed enforcers as this had been previously seen due to the British Army maintaining order when needed. The arming of police in Great Britain is a perennial topic of debate.

Wasn't really a spoiler, you didn't give anything away.

Also looking forward to spoiler tags.

On another note, the entire series was a waste of time.

Black Mirror - the first episode being possibly the most disturbing piece I have ever watched . Ever.

Nice use of spoiler text there. Deleted from quote because it shows against the grey background.

Season 3 of The Fall so far zzzzzzz

From The Guardian ...

The Fall: why were we ever excited about this dead dog of a show?

Once, The Fall was a sexy, unbearably tense thriller. Now, it’s proof that everyone is stupid and nobody learns anything. It really stings when good TV goes bad

Bad TV shows are ten-a-penny. The world is overrun with them; their births barely acknowledged, their deaths unmourned. There is nothing special about a bad TV show. But a good TV show that turns bad is a different matter. When a once-promising show – like Broadchurch or Dexter or True Detective – rewards your devotion by dissolving into a soggy morass of nothing, that really stings. When that happens, it’s hard not to take it personally.

I’m trying not to take The Fall personally.

SPOILERS in link.
