I've seen the ads in the local newspapers and the Sunday Times - so maybe check them out there?

All the fast speeds are because of fibre-optic cable being the last mile, correct? Therefore we'll never see these speeds as Telscum are too lazy/greedy/incompetent to lay down such fast cables.

2.5Gbps is almost faster than the entire International Link that all the ADSL users in SA are using.

An the rate at which the gap is widening is acellerating.

Telkom's ADSL bang for buck has gone up by 40% since it was launched.

The same time period we have seen Broadband in France go from 2Mb to 2500Mb for the same price.

Absolutly shocking!!!! performance Telkom.

Can't we get invaded by America please. I'm sure the solders in Iraq have got faster internet than we do.

So Telkom is pretty much the anti-Christ. It really is an economy they're stifling. What to do?

Boo every time we see a Telkom ad at the cinema? Its not much fun booing at my TV screen every time "jack the cable guy" (the Telkom mascot) appears...
 
telkom = government sponsored by monopoly

well we know 3/4's of the country can't afford internet, or telephones, or computers (and how expensive is an old pentium?) - so stick it to those who can - I mean - they were the previously privileged minority - let them pay! :D

This triple play offering in itself looks like good value for money, but the relatively high price is for the exhilarating broadband speeds. This latest offering is a 2.5 Gbps downstream, 1.2 Gbps upstream service!

Yeh, let the previously "advantaged" pay... Lol, dont turn this into a political thing, the truth is Telkom is shafting everyone in this country and the economy is suffering because they "need" to make their 6 billion rand profit.

Listening? Oh they are listening, but they have other priorities. Government own a huge chunk of Telkom (and SNO) and the "Elephant Group" (lead by senior ANC officials) own R6 Billion of Telkom shares. Change? Forget it. But don't worry, in 20 years when SA has completely missed the boat, guess who will be screaming that it's not fair and that Evil White Men have sabotaged Africa again.
 
here is what i would like to see, they had a comparison a week or so ago on news24 about the cost of certain items compared to a Big Mac burger, which is a "similar" thing in all countries, i would like to see how broadband prices compare to that, for example say R350 for adsl = 25 bigmacs (at R13.95 each) but in india or wherever its so much and so on? anybody?
