I've lost almost a GB in bandwidth that Cybersmart can't account for. They blamed it on a hacker on Tues and said to change my wireless router's password. I did, and still lost all my bandwidth until capped Weds night. They then said to unplug the router. I did, and lost all my bandwidth until account was capped again on Thurs night. Last night after I told them I was changing my ISP (I am), I lost no bandwidth at all. Like magic.

How is this happening?

A whole gig? That does sound like serious wrongdoing!

In these cases I first change ADSL password with ISP.
Then change router password.
Then change wireless password.

Call ISP to check concurrent connections.

Now check user PC's/notebooks/tablets etc with bandwitdh manager program.

Then find uTorrent and that is usually where the bandwitdh goes.

Lol @ Griz. Since moaning about this very publicly the problem has stopped. Again, like magic. (Thanks Hambone.) Will do all you suggest, simm_card, as a preventative measure, even though the issue has resolved itself.
Making sure uTorrent was shut down was the very first thing I did. Nothing is/was streaming/seeding/any other such thing that could use up bandwidth. Especially true when router was unplugged...
