Hey guys,

I'm not too sure what I should do with a bit of stuff i have that I've replaced over the years due to it being broken,
For example I have a hyper x cloud 2 headset that only works in one ear, other ear only works if i twist or turn the cables,
Another example is I have a Steelseries rival 300 mouse but my pet rabbit chew up the cord.

What do you do with these components that you have replaced?
Would you try to get it fixed to resell or try sell as is? Does anyone actually buy these? Or do you just dump them in the trash?

I am in Durban/Umhlanga area if that helps.

Thanks

Why do you have a pet rabbit? My Beagle loves chasing them, but he is a fat ****, only caught one in his younger years, snapped it's neck....actually it was a hare but anyhow......dump your stuff.

Donate it to the kid on the block that is handy with a soldering iron. At the very least you'll give him something to keep him out of trouble for an afternoon

Electronic waste (e-waste) should be disposed of responsibly. (You have no doubt seen the sign on the packaging showing a wheelie bin sign with an X on top of it?)
That said where should you dispose of this stuff is the big question..
All Makro stores used to have a disposal container in their parking lot but these suddenly disappeared (and I'm told they are waiting for a new sponsor to reinstate them!)
My only suggestion is to drop off your e-waste at a Hospice shop. They will deal with it if it isn't bought by someone like myself who loves rummaging through the piles of junk that people throw away.

fix it if u can or PIF it. I am sure someone less fortunate will be happy to receive it and fix it.

Unless you can fix it yourself it's probably not worth the labour costs paying someone to fix it. Replacing a cable is not hard if you wanna do it yourself else I would PIF it.

What does PIF mean?

pay it forward
