Hi,

I would like some advice on disposing of a few old, broken motherboards I have lying around.

Is there anyone who buys these things or a recycling point where they could be disposed of?

I know makro has got a recycling container by each of their shops, you won't get anything but at least you know it is disposed of in a responsible manner (at least that is what I hope happens)

there are sites where you can dump electronic waste & they charge you to take the stuff even if you take it there....

Wow, what a way for them to discourage people to dispose of their electronic waste...

Some scrapyards will take electronic scrap. One in near me Centurion has a price per kilo for all types of scrap.

I cleaned out my garage last year, carefully sorting scrap into different metals, and came away with over R700.

I wouldn't be interested in paying for getting rid of my old stuff. Makro seems like a good option :)
