no really! I checked with Obama and he said it was so!
He only uses Firefox.I wanna change my vote - started using Opera (after reading this) and I am loving it!
It does seem like a beta (um... since it, um is a beta), and slows down with some Flash every now and then... but mostly I love it!
Oh, one more thing, download links in GMail don't seem to work??

The funny thing is.....Firefox is one of the s...l....o....w.....e.....s.....t browsers.
Guess it's the add-ons....but Chrome is the king of speed.

Firefox 3.5 is supposed to be nice and fast. But I guess in this survey the add-ons for Firefox just trump every other browser.

Html linked content in email messages or url links (to a site)?
Both work fine here.
Really? That's weird.
HTML content is fine.
Navigation in GMail is fine.
The links to download attachments doesn't do anything when I click on it. For example, if Vodacom sends me an invoice in PDF, I can click the "View" link and let GMail's HTML viewer show it. That works fine. But if I try to download the PDF by clicking "Download" in GMail, I have to revert back to Firefox / Chrome. It just does nothing!

Ok, I tried it now and it doesn't do anything when you click download. However if you right click and choose either "Open in new tab" or "Save to download folder" it does allow you to save the content locally.
I've never had this problem previously because I just use the website for viewing and download all messages via POP3.

If you're having problems with it why not just use thunderbird to get your GMail?
I chose Firefox, because
1) open source
2) runs stable on Linux, actually "more stable than others" would be more accurate.
3) could compile it with optimized flags, -march=... -O2
4) runs stable enough with 140 tabs open, 2 months at most. Before I have to close the browser and restart FireFox.
5) Opera got all those fancy gestures, but running it 24/7 with a lot of tabs open makes it hard to open up with all the tabs. So not playing nice with recovery.
6) Opera is 2nd best on Linux (not open source). Best on my smart phone.

I'd miss the GMail features! I actually have Outlook running as well, but it's somehow just easier to open GMail when the browser is already open.
