Chrome is doing an annoying thing in the form of grinding to a halt when I open more than 3 tabs.
Thats odd, I'm also using Windows 7 and Chrome with zero issues. You using the latest version of Chrome I assume? 2.0.172.30?

For all those who use Firefox, Chrome and Safari

Want to know what features are in the next upgrade ?

Check Opera 10 Beta ;-)

Never had a issue with Chrome and their new version release just made it much better!
I was reluctant to move from ff to chrome but after using chrome for a day it was just so much better.

Chrome is also compact by design making everything just look better

Opera ftw.

- No scrolling delay (page rendering I guess?).
- Fast with opening up (the program and pages).
- A non intrusive download manager (FF has this stupid little box popping up even when you save a picture - damn annoying if you have lots to save).
- Mouse gestures built in. And they thought of it first. And it is better implemented than the FF ones.
- Opera Mini. Nuff said.

I will concede that even though FF has an awesome addon thing going on, it is a bloated browser that has a somewhat cheap feel to it.

I recently swapped to chrome and was happy and impressed until i realized I was having problems with my FNB daily visit. Parts of the page wouldn't load and certain functions appeared not to be there. At first I assumed it was FNB's site as it isnt the most stable at times. But then I tried the same thing on IE and the site worked ok. But nonetheless except for my internet banking, its default to Google Chrome for me.

I am exactly in the same boat. Would have used Chrome all the time, except now for this FNB Banking. Hopefully someone from FNB reads the forum.

I'm all over my Foxxy! :D

It sure drops IE. Maybe Chrome has improved a wee bit and will give it another look.

Och Aye!

ditto with ABSA banking BTW ...

Investec banking is the same problem. The pin-pad doesn't load. I used Chrome anyways, until I started noticing how many adds I was seeing again. The "Death Test" that laughs when you hover over it killed it for me - so I am back to Firefox. ;)

Is it just me that experiences a huge delay when you first open Firefox? On multiple computers (Home and Work) sometimes I wait for up to a minute and this happens consistently.I really do prefer Firefox to IE but if this delay persists I'm afraid I will have to shelve Firefox.

The huge memory usage isn't really and issue when you have 4 gigs of ram, but damn it really annoys me when I start Up firefox and have to wait 30 seconds to a minute for it to open(This is only on the first load up for the day, everytime after that it does open up immediately)

Firefox with adblock plus! After that I don't know how people can use another browser...

This is what will keep me on Firefox.
More than likely to use Chrome for Gmail once it is stable on linux.

I discovered Opera while hunting down a "low profile" browser for my netbook and what I found was way more than I expected, surely not the lightest fastest or smallest memory footprint. but once you get accustomed to the stability which it throws into the pot together with a spectacular tab's system not to mention doing away with the classic home page was in favor of the speed dial then it just shouts awesomeness. Also something that I would recommend for the computer illiterate because the built in torrent client, rss reader etc sure makes for what could generally be described as the easiest way to get around the net.

Wow I had no idea firefox would dominate like that, I mean I suspected it would be on top, but I thought IE would at least be in contention.

Opera is still very underated, come on peeps for those that haven't tried the new Opera 10.00 Beta yet, please do.

About 2-3 weeks ago, I decided to give opera another bash now that snapshots are in beta. I have been very impressed. Of the sites I visit (esp those with flash) they render properly as opposed to the latest FF (an issue that has been around with FF since v2).

The sites also render much quicker. I'll get around to installing the adblock equivalent. I have to say at this point I can see myself stick with it.

No surprise there! It IS the best browser, and ALL the smart people use it!

Other Browser = FAIL

I long for the days when websites don't need to be built for Firefox and then rebuilt for IE7, IE6 and IE8. Anyone still using IE5?
