Hi everyone - could really use some help/guidance. i'm running Windows 10 on my laptop and pop ups and redirecting pages on my browsers is driving me insane!

I've tried the full on Avast but hasn't helped and reluctant to purchase another since i'm not really sure it will solve the problem. Have also not had much success from online search efforts to fix the issue esp. since I'm a little inept and don't know what to look for. Edge has over time blocked some pop-ups but the redirecting pages and self-opening tabs still continue and just seem to be happening more and more frequently...is there anything that can be done short of restoring windows reinstalling EVERYTHING? I've heard that uninstalling these 'add-ins' from the programs list can help but I don't know exactly where to find these on my control panel. I'm willing to give anything a go at this point!

Apologies if another thread exists, but couldn't locate anything under browser hijacking

TIA!

Along with the already mentioned cleaners you can also use farbar. It's the replacement for combofix which was the go-to cleaning app for windows 7 and 8.

Installed and ran Malwarebytes..worked like a charm!! seems to have addressed the issue..no diversions/pop-ups so far and hopefully stays that way. thanks folks!! will run ADWCLEANER for good measure
