Browser wars 2015: Chrome vs IE vs Firefox

I don't understand how MS said Edge is the fastest browser. I feels so much slower. Especially using multiple tabs.

The only reason for this is the corporate environment. I'm forced to use it on my work machines. My personal machines not a farking chance.

I was forced to use IE as well until I discovered Opera is the only other browser I can run here. Not my #1 pick but it'll do.

12 percenter thank you very much. Installed Chrome on my Mac a little while ago... After it kinda jacked my machine and installed desktop icons I didn't ask for (and spent an hour or so trying to figure out how to delete 'cos Google really, really don't make it easy), I discovered my appreciation for Safari is complete.

How many of those users reported are using Chrome on Android, and how many are on desktop platforms?

On Windows they are hidden away luckily. I like the apps because then you can access them quickly with Windows search/Cortana.

Yeah, they're actually just shortcuts... But... If I want a shortcut, I'll add it in Safari. Point being that it'll be me actually doing it, not Chrome deciding what I need or not.

I install Internet Explorer on purpose on all of my friends and relatives machines when they ask for help.

Hilarious.

I use a mix of all three, namely Firefox, Chrome, and IE. IE's tabbed site ability is wonderful, because I can treat a site as an app launched from my taskbar, which is how I've weaned myself off Outlook slowly.

Edge doesn't have a lot going for it right now. It's strange and slow, it doesn't support add-ons or RSS integration (it doesn't understand them at all), and Microsoft's approach to the add-on gap between themselves and Firefox/Chrome is to make Edge compatible with Chrome extensions. Thus, no-one's ever going to really design an add-on that is natively built for Edge, they'll just keep on targeting Chrome.

I'm still scratching my head as to why people don't use Opera that much, honestly much better than the other browsers.Googles marketing has got their browser the top spot it seems.

Marketing is more important in todays world than a great product unfortunately.:erm:

Because these days it's just a clone of Chrome. Better to use the real mccoy and best browser Chrome.

I use whichever I feel like using - I choose Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome.

I use opera browser. Such a awesome browser it just work so well. Recently though it's been giving me some trouble with a page crash error but I think that will get fixed.

Opera with the speed dial main screen is awesome. You get all your bookmarks right there when you open your browser and one click and you on the page you want to be.

I think Microsoft EDGE is a real nice browser too. Works very well and I might actually switch to it soon.

Firefox on my laptop and Opera on my phone. Honestly IE isn't so bad any more, I need to use it at university, and it has come a long way. I hate the standard Android browser though.
